Impressive work! I appreciate the openness about how many revisions making the molds took; prototyping for even simple objects is something that a lot of people (understandably) gloss over when making videos or talking about the process, but I appreciate seeing it in things like this even if it's not a primary focus.

Dunno why, from the thumbnail I though you made those moulds as reliefs with lineart preserved (an idea for a future iteration, perhaps?). I was actually eyeing Resincrete because of your previous video on it, but got scared of potential international order fees. I'd love to win a set from JDiction.

Wow they look amazing. I'm surprised that you didn't do a pegasus pony mould too. Doing an alicorn one would be more difficult, unless you were able to find the picture of Princess Twilight in the g1 design. I think that retro pony 6 pack is funny, I mean they have g4 characters done in g3 moulds with g1 artwork on the box.

Super inspired by the work you do with ponies! I began customizing and sculpting on Breyer models but tried a pony, now I'm kinda hooked. I created one as a studio mascot kinda thing and now have several other spooky ones in the works, plus a zebra and mule. Biggest thing I've found out with doing the customs is some poses the heads do not want to come unglued, I primarily work with G3s since that's what I grew up with and kinda prefer. Also a big thank you for showing us the Resincrete stuff, I never would've found out about it if I hadn't seen you using it. The concept is amazing and I'm definitely looking into using their products when I start casting medallions and ornaments I've sculpted. Can't wait to see the next video

I love these SO SO MUCH!! ❤❤ I don’t know if this will help, but when I do a mold from a 3d print I generally print out the solid inside shape, then cast that shape into silicone to make the mold. That flexible stuff you used to print the mold was really cool though!
@AwkwardBirb

And now I’m imagining these cast with a thin layer of clear resin and painted with transparent paints to make suncatchers 😍

Hmm do you think the same technique could be used to create molds for replacement horns? I’m also wondering if there’s a formula for flexible resin that dries clear. If so, that might actually be a viable solution to repair a G1 glitter pony.

@Jhud69

These came out great! I think you should try making silicone molds at some point - using the 3D prints as bases and then casting them in silicone. Also, open-backed molds can work but only as a "frame" if it makes sense - you could try painting it gold and then pour the resin in for example! It's done by putting thick tape on the bottom to prevent leaks.

With the idea of changing the mold, would adding a bevel or curve to the inner corner where the walls of the mold meet the bottom help? That way there wouldn’t be a sharp angle. Also, do you ever plan on making your models available online?
