I work in "the industry," utilising your top of the line cinema cameras, but I'm truly blown away by the Sigma FP. This tiny little powerhouse is a "mini-Alexa." The picture is phenomenally cinematic - nothing in the prosumer market comes close to it. I've bought two more already, as this is my long term indie filmmaker's camera - sold my Reds. Every camera has quirks, but take your time and work past those and you'll find a camera that is truly a little marvel.

You said the FP can only record to ssd and sd? It can output to external recorders as BRAW and Prores too. I don't get the problem with adding a cheap 2Tb SSD to the rig if you compare it to a BMPCC 6K/4K which are huge cameras by comparison even if one do not power those with v-mount battery. Besides cfast cards are extremely expensive compared to ssd, so I use ssd also on my BMPCC 4k. As for power there are dummy battery options like with the BMPCC. The possibility to charge is a hardware thing, but useless as you need the port for the SSD. I would not let go of my two Sigma fp 😊

Very valid point. I personally would like cfast, I use it on my pocket cameras and love it. Or even for that matter cf express. I like the FP as minimal as possible and so having an SSD is a pain for me personally. I record more 8 but these days cause I don’t like SSDs on my rig

Hi Anson! thanks for a great video. I currently own an FP, but I'm stumped as to why no one is talking about the FP monitor screen. Everything looks fine at ISO 100, it's just too much leg room and too little head room for my taste. Therefore, I prefer ISO 800 which is more balanced. However, when I shoot at 800 ISO, the highlights on the FP screen look way too blown out (when I check false colours, nothings red! and in Resolve, when using the Blackmagic colorspace, all the detail is there!). It leaves shooting to be more of a guessing game. I'm used to shooting for the look in camera which I adopted from the industry. I know you can shoot at ISO 100 and bring up the shadows in post but I want to know exactly what I'm shooting on the day hence why I chose 800. Have you come across this and are they're anyways to fix it/any work arounds? your insight would be amazing!
