Maybe it's just me, but the studio version should always be the first listen to a song IMO. Music videos are fine too (unless they cut out sections of the song which a few do). It just feels like it's usually the most well put together version and it feels like the intended experience. Live versions are for subsequent viewings. On another note, I love Disturbed, they were the second concert I ever went to, and they played with the band 10 Years, and my favorite band for a long time which split up just a few years ago, Ill Nino. Christian Machado has such a powerful and unique voice with a ton of projection (even live) and it's well worth listening to some of their old songs even if you don't like Nu Metal.

This song was basically their debut. This album was where "Disturbed" really got big and known from. Back in the early 2000s, this was basically the jam. They still play this song on tours.

He does make a lot of sounds that are non-lyrical. But you can still feel the raw emotion. Many times, throughout our lives we have frustrations that we have trouble putting into words, and David gives both the barbaric vocalizations combined with the intellect of putting those grunts into distinct thoughts through his lyricism. Due to my age I may be a little old school, but I feel reaction channels should listen to the album/studio versions first. This way they can get the same experience most of us did when the albums came out.

The main priblem with that is you cant "see" them sing. Cant see how their throat, lips, mouth, eyes move to produce the music. Plus album versions have usually been filtered to produce "perfect" sound. Many of us have loved a singer on an album only to hate the band after hearing them live.

I'm seeing them on the 13th and i couldn't be more excited. Disturbed got me into metal when i was in middle school and they are still one of my all time favorites. My personal favorite is the night, David's vocals are amazing and the guitar solo blows me away every time

I wish David would cover more of Genesis - he's like a dark Phil Collins (or anything from Phil, for that matter).

I was never a fan of Disturbed until I saw them at Ozzfest in 2006 or 2007. The main stage was Hatebreed, Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, System of a Down, and Ozzy. Disturbed blew them all away and I became a fan. They're hands down on of the best live bands out there, right behind any band fronted by Maynard James Keenan. I just saw them again on Jul 13 in SLC with Breaking Benjamin (who you should do some videos on) and Jinjer. They haven't lost a step.

I absolutely love your videos. Especially the videos like this one. There's so much emotion in the music and the raw jubilation shown on your face and in your general reaction is so wholesome and adorable. Seeing this in response to music that shaped me as a young teenager in junior high all those years ago just puts a giant smile on my face. The intense giddiness in response to this stuff just fills me with joy. I've been a fan of your channel for about 2 years now. Videos like this will keep me coming back for as long as you're still working on this channel. Thank you. You're fucking awesome. ❤ Edit: I would LOVE to see more of this album on your channel.

What I love so much about all your videos is the new perspective watching them gives me of the songs. I've listened to Disturbed for years, but always from a guitarists lens, so focussing in on the vocals is a whole different viewpoint to reappreciate the song from. Thanks for all these videos :D

This song in particular and Mudshovel by Staind has some of the best expressions of anger during key moments of the songs that I know of. And one of the most unique things, and something I enjoy most about Disturbed, is his ability to make the pronunciations of his words hit with the beat of the songs so perfectly. It's so sharp and clear. And the way he has taken filler sounds that we've heard many times across all types of music na's, do's, la's, etc and created his own kind of metal version of that with his growls is also amazing.

"Rumbiddy rum bum badid now, rumbiddy bum badid new" - David Draiman This was the song that got me super into Disturbed after Stupify was getting tons of airplay. Great listen-along!

A cool reaction to see would be a live version of Amon Amarth - Put Your Back into the Oar. Not only do they have a rougher sound but the crowds always get into the song.

Literally saw this happen live recently! It was insane, they had thousands of people in the crowd sitting on the ground all rowing it was the craziest pit I have ever seen or at least the funniest one!

Disturbed one of the best live bands I have ever seen. They sound just like their cds . Also met them at a meet and greet they were all so friendly and humble. So Thankyou for sharing your reaction to them look forward to watching your interview with David Draiman.

You know I've been listening to this channel pretty close to the beginning (got drawn in by the sound of silence reaction). I think at the core of the reaction genre is getting to live vicariously through another person getting to experience your well worn favorites for the first time. But I think one thing this channel and a vanishing handful of other channels do brilliantly is make you appreciate those old favorites in new ways. I was a 15 year old kid with zero understanding of the music (its composition, not the lyrics) obsessively listening to this album. I really appreciate having someone who can dissect the songs this way and give a new deeper understanding of what it took for the vocalist and band + audio crew to make it happen.

Yep, the Debut album was 🔥. Saw them on a late night concert television program before they got big. Just like the first time I heard Smells like teen spirit, I knew this band was going to be HUGE! Disturbed, HEAVY AS H*LL! Awesome!

I saw them the very FIRST time they ever played live. In a BAR called Champs on the Southside of Chicago and knew then that they were going to be HUGE. I've seen them 30+ times. 25 of them have been in bars before they were signed. I was a member of their original "Street Crew", which got a shout out on the liner notes of this album.

It’s always so fun to watch her listen to these songs. On top of being a fan of the music it’s enrapturing to have someone with her level of knowledge and expertise break down the song and get just as excited for these songs as I did when I found them.

Normally i have songs on shuffle, once this song came, i can play it 3-4 times in a row!!! One of my favorite from DIsturbed. Is there any way to cover up some songs from Hammerfall? Like Hymn of the Immortal Warriors, Any Means Necesary, Hearts On Fire. Thanks, and I finally catch your premiere and that conversation with David was awesome. Thanks again and have a nice day.

Since you've been diving into Disturbed as of late, and with how amazing their Sound of Silence is, you really should consider checking out their Land of Confusion cover, it's a very old cover (I believe it hit youtube around 13 years ago) which could be an interesting comparison to the rather new Sound of Silence one, also, as you probably know already, the lyrical message of Land of Confusion is very relevant today.
