Considering the overflow hose was spraying onto the engine, and you had old seals leaking prior to the repair....its very likely the hot water, washed some old oil down the engine block making it look like there is a front main leak, when it was just some old residual oil mixed with hot water. I'd clean it off as best you can and just watch for new traces.

These videos are excellent for me, as they reinforce the idea of getting rid of cars, and not getting any more of them. I was up to 7 at one point, and I spent almost my whole life dong nothing but being a slave to their requirements. So, I sold a bunch of cars, and now I'm down to a '69 911 S, an '82 928 S and a '97 Tommy kaira M20b wagon. Three of the most amazing cars ever made. And that is more than plenty for me! Now I get my car fix and restoration enjoyment vicariously, through you, and other KZitemrs, and it saves me tens of thousands of dollars, and much heart ache every year! Thanks, Sam.

Great showmanship at the ending. Keep handling everything like a champ.👍 Other things... When cars sit for an extended period of time... Temperature humidity, ECT... Gaskets and seals will shrink. You will have to start and let stuff idle every few weeks to several months... even putt around... easy because a shrunken seal or gasket can develop a permanent leak going too hard. Oil thins out when hot... Kept at a proper temperature it shouldn't seep out. I would replace the front seal just for the channel in my opinion... If there's no leaks and you plan to keep it for awhile I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoyed the video keep em coming

I have a Honda about the same age as this Ferrari. It just ticked over 200,000 miles. It runs reliably every day. I can recount all the maintenance it's had done off the top of my head - normal service (oil/filters/fluids), AC compressor, 1 O2 sensor, front suspension (control arms, ball joints, tie rods etc), engine cooling fans. That's about it, period.

If it only leaked oil after overheating, keep in mind that oil thins out with temperature so it would be thinner than normal operating conditions at that point and leak out easier. Also the overheating could have caused some internal pressure somewhere that helped force it out. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it started happening regularly.
@nicholasvinen

C'mon Sam, you know the rule with British cars. If its leaking fluids, it means it has fluids. Only worry when it isn't leaking anything! And as for the Ferrari, my guess, like others, that overflow from the coolant cleaned some oil from the top/crevices of the block. While part of me says replace that front seal as a good PM move, I'm also worried that everytime you crack something open to fix one problem, you risk opening up more problems. But really happy to see that 360 on the road under its own power. For many years of my life the 360 was I car I dreamt about too!

I snugged up the gas cap before when it first set but it wouldn't clear so I reset it and so far so good.
