It has been six months since my surgery and it's literally the been the best decision of my life. I can breathe about 100-150% more air every breath because my nose works so well. It has been insane when it comes to helping me train harder in the gym as well as a dramatic difference sleep wise as well.
The craziest thing for me is about 4 weeks ago I started doing my myofunctional therapy for my mouth and that was the biggest game changer. About 3 months after surgery I would say I was in the best shape I've been in over the last 15 years, and I own a gym. However the daily fatigue and brain fog hadn't changed at all which was crazy to me. About two weeks after doing myo, I started to sleep significantly better and it's really helped me to wake up and feel rested and clear headed. I do about 5 mins of exercises roughly three times a day, but often more once I realized how much it helped me to get better because I had been a mouth breather my whole life, and even w a much larger space for my tongue I hadn't strengthened it to sit anywhere different, especially when I sleep.
I measured my expansion the other day and the intermolar width of my maxilla before was 31mm from the cusps. Now it sits at 42mm which means my upper jaw is almost a third bigger.
I was supposed to get my expander out this week but since my upper jaw is still so much bigger than my lower jaw, he wanted to keep the expander in to really give support to the upper teeth when I sleep to start to bend the lower teeth out to bring my bite together.
