I take 0.5mg, pretty young (24) ... did experience side effects after 6 weeks. My libido crashed substantially. I really felt that hard. Very mild erectile issues (more than likely psychological). But after continued usage it all cleared about a few weeks after that and my body has normalized it. Very high libido again ! Almost all of the side effects are transient and the studies do suggest that they decrease over time as you continue use of the drug. Very very rarely (1.4%) are the side effects persistent and they will stop after drug is discontinued... PFS has no real credibility thus far and is rejected by the medical community. Most people give up at the first sign of sides, but it might be worth waiting just a bit longer so you can adjust. Either way... its worth a shot! I wish I started sooner. Saw results after 3 months.

Very Limited sides with Fin. stopped for 1 yr to try Dut in my late 30’s. I got back on fin because the high shedding periods and I also noticed the solids effects were a little more aggressive. Recently went in for some bloodwork and my T was super super low. Which is a rather new find. My wife really wants me to stop taking the fin. So I’ve cut it back with hopes to stop. Fin doesn't reduce T, well sometimes it does, but with someone who has Low T(like you) it should increase it. Kevin, I need your expertise. Been on Finasteride 1mg daily for just over 2 months. How long should I give the Finasteride to do its thing then go onto Finasteride + Minoxidil? Also what should I be looking for to be sure that the finasteride is working? Ive heard mixed things, some say I could see some minor regrowth on finasteride, while others say its sole purpose is to block DHT not regrow new hair. Will it make my individual hair strands thicker/healthier? I still have a decent amount of hair on my head. But its definitely thinned out tremendously over the past 2+ years (Im 22). Not sure where to go from here. I think I should give Finasteride more time, just because I really don't want to deal with the hassle of minoxidil quite yet. One things for sure, your videos help a lot! Keep being a GOAT in the gym and the hairloss battle!
@haircafekevin
4 жыл бұрын
Hey, sounds like you're nervous. There is no need to be, the chances that finasteride won't work for you are very very small. Finasteride is more about stopping further hair loss than regrowth but nevertheless about 60 percent of people will experience some regrowth on finasteride. It is a slow process though, the hair follicle will have to go through several growth cycles before you see any notable improvement but bare minimum I would give it about 6 months before you see the results. For me personally I didn't notice any notable improvement beyond baseline until about 10 months although by the 6 months mark I felt my hair loss had stopped. You can add minoxidil anytime you want but I would definitely not assume the treatment isn't working, especially after just two months.

Hi Kevin! You mentioned that eucapil could be mixed with stemoxydine or pantostin; however, I just read on my newly arrived stemoxydine and alfatradiol bottles that they contain water, and since fluridil is hydrophobic, mixing them would decompose the fluridil. Minoxidil also containes purified water, both the foam and the liquid versions. Wouldn't those also make the fluridil decompose when mixing? Since I am new to hairloss treatments you may know something about this topic that I don't. Looking forward to your answer. Great content, as always!

My cousi followed in his steps and started losing hair around 21 ish. Currently I have not noticed any hair loss but I was wondering whether you think I should start taking finasteride because the hair loss gene runs in my family. I am asking because I have heard rumors that the longer you take finasteride, it slowly becomes less effective? Is this true and should I wait to see if I start losing my hair or is the rumor BS and if so should I just start taking finasteride for protection just in case. My Hairline has always been naturally high since I was a kid, but have had no changes in it. What are your thoughts? Love your videos btw!

Yes, I think you should. You don't want to wait until you've lost ground because you may not be able to get it back with pharmaceuticals. Kevin, you can not mix Fluridil with other things like Minoxidil because water makes Fluridil to decompose! Thats why on their website they even warn people to avoid applying minoxidil and fluridil around the same time... So this is why it sucks, because not be able to mix it with other lotion means that you wont be able to cover the scalp entirely as needed...with the 2ml amount..

Thanks for another great video! For vegans who want to take dutasteride but don't want to take gelatin, it's worth looking into custom compounding. I've tracked down pharmacies that say they can compound the drug in a vegetarian capsule. You would also need a doctor willing to write you a prescription indicating that you need custom compounding due to ethical/religious objections. Or you would have to lie and say you have an allergy. In any case, it's MUCH more convenient to take finasteride, which is what I'm doing and will be doing for the foreseeable future. In any case, my biggest issue with dutasteride has less to do with efficacy or convenience and more to do with long-term safety. We have ten year studies on finasteride, as well as populations of people who go their entire lives with a 5AR2 deficiency. On the other hand, the longest-term studies I'm aware of on dutasteride only lasted four years, and I've never heard of a natural 5AR1 deficiency in humans (let alone deficiency in BOTH 5AR1 and 5AR2). That's not to say it isn't safe to take dutasteride long term, just that the safety data isn't nearly as robust.

Thank you and that is extremely interesting. I agree with you completely...Finasteride has far more research as it relates to MPB and it has been proven to be very effective. It is frustrating when I hear people say they tried finasteride for 2 months, they get a shed and then they think they need to get on dut...for fuck's sakes guys give fin a chance.

@@jhuntley575 as far as I know, Finasteride only has effect on scalp hair, and maybe even perhaps slow the growth of body and or facial hair because dht actually aids in that, dont quote me on that though. Minoxidil however, it is possible that you can get hair in unexpected places if you accidentally put it somewhere you dont want to or not washing it off properly can indeed result in random hair growth. But thats pretty unlikely overall.
@MRBURNTTOAST111
4 жыл бұрын
@J Huntley Minoxidil like anything applied topically has a very small percent chance of going systemically that’s why minoxidil has the side effects such as random hair growth and cardiovascular problems but the likelihood of that happening are very slim. If you want to take minoxidil you have to realize it’s a treatment that you will have to continue for the rest of your fight against MPB unless you decide to stop all treatments. The hair on your scalp gets addicted to the minoxidil and stopping makes the hair shed. Once daily minoxidil is enough as the half life is 22 hours. I have seb derm and only apply once daily with the foam melted down as it causes less irritation as the foam minoxidil has no PG which means you shouldn’t get an irritated scalp. If you are worried about minoxidil side effects I suggest starting at a 2.5% dose once daily and if your body can handle than move up to 5%.

Concerning ru58841, would it plausible to mix the raw powder in a standard 60 mL 5% kirkland minoxidil bottle, then place that bottle in the fridge when I'm not using it to prevent degradation of the ru? I'm already mixing crushed finasteride pills into the minoxidil with good results and was wondering if I could add RU to have an extremely potent anti hairloss mixture. Im not sure if the RU will dissolve properly in the minoxidil so I thought i'd ask. Thanks!
