YESSSS!!! My problem started 14 hours driving without a break 3 days in a row, agony in trochanters, hips, sacrum, cant walk or stand in line for 1 minute without stopping to sit. Even as a nurse and massage therapist I couldn’t figure it out or relieve it. An inversion table finally allowed something to pop on my left SI area and had instant relief.

This is so helpful, thank you. I have started supporting my leg as you suggest, with good results. If you read this I wonder if you might be able to give me some pointers for a problem I have with SI pain after using my spinning wheel. I treadle the wheel with one foot only, so of course am a bit lopsided. I try to swap feet every so often, but it builds up gradually, causing cramp in my calf and SI pain. Any tricks or tips would be really useful, not only to me, but to all hand spinners. Many thanks.

So true, such a good explanation of the hip problem I observed. Do you have a clinic in Santa Barbara and see patients?
@CoreBalance
11 ай бұрын
We're so happy to hear that Dr. Ryan's explanation resonated with you! Dr. Ryan does not have a clinic in Santa Barbara, and he is not seeing patients in-person at this time. He is currently offering Core Balance Training online, and individual coaching for our students in the Coaching Hub. The Coaching Hub is an additional feature that allows you to upload a video of yourself performing an exercise for movement analysis and personalized feedback. If you're interested in learning more about the program, please feel free to let us know, and we'd be happy to share more information. 😊

Should we be pushing down into the ground in general for basic and athletic movement, walking, running, lifting, etc?
@CoreBalance
10 ай бұрын
Hi Moto, thank you for your comment! Yes, the push away can be applied to all movements and helps the body control how the action is executed. Pushing away from healthy support points gives your body the information it needs to make the right muscles fire automatically.

@CoreBalance

Thank you for your comment! The popping you hear can possibly be caused by the SI Joint when laying down and squeezing your glutes. Hi. If you end up having to spend a lot of time sitting are there exercises you can do ( squeezing a ball or Bleach roll, tightening the flutes etc) while sitting down?thx
@CoreBalance
Жыл бұрын
Hi Missi, This is a great question! I always recommend variety so if that means being able to switch chairs, spend some time standing and fluctuate it with sitting, that would be best. In the program, we teach the fundamentals for you to apply to sitting, standing, walking, etc. that will benefit you greatly in the long term. I have plenty of 'shorts' all about sitting that I think you would enjoy if you feel called to look into them a bit! For now, here is one that I think you will like: kzitem.infofqPKzryJ5w0?feature=share

I have been trying not to have a right hip replacement, which I am told I need and the pain has been very acute but I thought I could possibly eliminate having to do the operation if I worked on the strength with my physiotherapist, but it seems that it’s not working And it’s already been eight months that I’ve been suffering so I need to travel a 3 Hour Dr. which is going to kill me because my butt starts to hurt so badly as well as the groin and the SI joint so if you have any extra tips for me for this trip, let me know. Also, do you know if anybody who has eliminated having to do a hip replacement through proper exercises?

I’m curious what you ended up doing? I’ve heard we have to be very patient for this recovery of strength for this issue - it more commonly begins to heal after 1 year to completely by 2 years with consistent strengthening and wearing the SI belt for even 3 weeks 24/7
@4444marla

@@Esthermyrrh Thank you for asking and I wish I could tell you something optimistic but the truth is that it looks like I need an operation. I have been going to a class two times a week which was quite intensive but I had to travel 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back because I’m in a small town and the traveling was exhausting. I used a small hardball under one of my buttock cheeks which I squeezed with all my might when I was on my trip to San Francisco and since it fired up my muscles, my butt was less painful on the way to SF. But it does look like I’m going to have to do the operation and I’m just researching to find the best surgeon.

Where is the popping sound come from?
@CoreBalance
7 ай бұрын
Hi Eddie, thank you for your comment! SI joint popping typically originates from the sacroiliac joint, which is located in the lower back where the sacrum (a triangular bone at the base of the spine) meets the iliac bones of the pelvis. I hope this is helpful!
