I’m an avid fisherman. Love it. Been doing it most of my life. But, I gotta say, I get a kick out of videos of fisherman fighting with property owners and people at docks about not owning the water. They are right. I agree fully. But then we have a fisherman on the water pissed off because someone on a jet ski slowly idled by to admire the waterfall. You don’t own the water, either. Respect goes both ways. There’s no harm in stopping a few casts while someone idles by and giving a wave and admiring the falls with them. It’s not like the jet skier was doing donuts around you telling you to fuck off.

This was in a spot that isn’t fished or waded in that much too, so we didn’t have anyone else in our way to worry about. Well so I thought… Right as my girl is midway through a cast, a lady walks up a few feet to her right and just stood there up to her ankles in the water, as if she was with us too... She was so close to getting hooked as my gf was throwing her cast and it was rather strange to randomly walk up into the algae filled water right in our midst, way too close. Anyways my gf looked at me and I said loud enough to be heard “keep fishing, she’ll move” and finally the lady did.

I fish Center Hill Lake all the time and I will let someone know if they are getting too close while I'm fishing but I certainly do not think I own the entrance to a tourist attraction. So now instead of letting the guy know how you feel, you just throw your line directly on/at him? GROW UP BRO! What if you had a weight on there and it hit him and knocked his teeth out now you gotta pay medical bills or worse... Even when you think you are right and nothing can happen, think about that 1% chance... Imagine if you threw a fit and it took his life now you have to explain to a detective why someone is no longer with us all because you just HAD to cast right there!
