This is the video I was looking for! Every other video shows a process that doesn't actually work with my E93. Thanks!

Great vid. Silly question - what lift/ jack stand system are you using. Looks waaaay too convenient!

They are called quick jacks, I have the 5000 lbs model. They are super useful and I feel comfortable under the car using these. Here's a link to them: www.costco.com/quickjack-5%2C000lb.-slx-capacity-portable-car-lift-bundle-.product.100666851.html

Thanks for good video. I've just bought a 2011 1M coupe here in UK, with only 24k miles on car, but realise the coolant probably never been changed as BMW consider it a 'lifetime fill' & isn't in the service schedule. It seems pretty straight forward how you described. There is no radiator cap to open? Just the reservoir bottle to refill? Also car doesn't have to be jacked up one side higher to bleed, just straight up at front?
@Calvinm

Hey! Ya just the reservoir cap to refill. And yes, you don’t need the car to be up on one side to bleed it. The electric water pump will circulate the coolant to bleed it before you turn the car on by holding the gas pedal down. Enjoy the 1M!

How much time did you spend doing it (Drain/Bleed)? What is your carlift brand/model?
@Calvinm
2 жыл бұрын
I spent about an hour and a half doing the job. The lift is called quick jack, they come in a couple different models. I’ve linked their site down below. 👍 Link: www.quickjacklift.ca

Hi again, does the radiator drain plug drain all the coolant, or should you disconnect a hose near engine as well for a complete drain? Thanks
@Calvinm
3 жыл бұрын
I believe this leaves a small amount of coolant in the system because the radiator drain is slightly above the waterpump/thermostat. You could pull a hose of the thermostat housing and likely get more coolant.

I was told to have water pump active while draining to make sure everything is squeezed out. any truth to that ?
@Calvinm
2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried that but I don’t think it’s a great idea to have the pump running when the system is low/dry. If you want every drop out of the system I would take off a water pump hose and that should do the trick. 👍

Is there Any Other way of draining you’re coolant? My Mickey Mouse flange broke but reusing the hose just upgrading the flange and only a little coolant came out, but want drain it all and put fresh in. BUT.. I had a PITA fight with my 5” Arm intercooler connecting the hoses togather. Lol Thanks for any replies fellas.

And it doesn’t have to be perfect as in ALL the coolant just maybe most of it? 60%+?
@Calvinm
3 жыл бұрын
@Robert Kenney, if you take a hose off of the water pump you will drain 90% of the coolant since the water pump is at the bottom of the engine. Best of luck!

www.quickjack.com/car-lifts/bl-5000slx/ It's a hydraulic lift made by quick jack. Highly recommend it!

@@Calvinm That's the exact one I want. Would have bought it yesterday if Costco had one in stock here in town. Instead, I'm back on 4 jack stands for inlets/outlets. I snapped that little overflow tube so found your video. Great content, thank you.
