I just think his tone is perfect, it runs the thin line right before saturation and just past clean. He's able to be so dynamic with his playing because of his simplistic tone.

@MasterOfPuppets929

mr5jr to me, david is an extremely technical musician but a fairly simple guitarists, so i can sort of see where you're coming from. i think what's so special about him is that he's part of a new generation of prog guitarists who shred their minds off.but he doesn't shred all of the time. i think his lead playing is just so tasteful, and the way he plays with the backing track is really amazing to me. his playing reminds me of david gilmour in a way, as his most powerful melodies are slow carefully timed leads. that's just my two cents though
@MasterOfPuppets929
7 жыл бұрын
i just wanted to add - you could say he's copying plini, but i think he takes that same style and takes it to another level. his music isn't so much as heavy but really progressive and ambient.
