First, THIS is the type of tennis match I enjoy watching. Despite the power of both players, NOT A SOUND! No loud grunts, no screams when the ball has already left the racquet … just an enjoyable game. Secondly, Naomi Osaka continues to prove that her game is no fluke. She just keep on dismantling her opponent(s). And, what's scary, or SHOULD BE (to the rest of the WTA field, that is) is that she is only 20 years old and continues to improve!!

Other than being very easy on the eyes, what I really like about Camila is how she is always so calm and collected. No awkward ungraceful grunts. No complaining. Just a quiet fist pump once in awhile. She also primps herself between each point. There is something very lady-like about her that's lacking in most players today. And its not that she doesn't try hard. She smacks the crap out of the ball on every point. She has no gears. Just one gear.

Naomi seems to have absolutely no problem dealing with power coming at her recently. Saw it with Serena, Keys, Sabalenka, and now with Giorgi. If Naomi keeps playing a great level, it will take a great counterpuncher with a decent enough serve to beat Naomi. Someone like a Simona, Wozniaki or Kerber playing their best ( with the current form, I don't see Kerber and Wozniaki defeating Osaka tbh). Simona, Yes. Someone who can grind and slowly take Naomi off the singles court and have the accuracy to go down the line with their backhand (for a righty) and down the line forehand (for a lefty). And only Halep, Kerber and Wozniacki playing at their best can do that. But for me as a Naomi fan since AO '16, it has been so awesome to see her reach top height in women's tennis and witnessing how it all started for her and how it unfolded. More power to Naomi!!

@@Justin21586 kerber is a big threat considering how hard it is to read the direction of her forehand. The top 8 for Singapore looks fun. I will miss Serena, Venus and Muguruza tho. But looking forward to seeing how the new entries like Naomi, Slaone (if she qualifies) and Bertens (if she qualifies) play there. Coming back to the Simona part, in these fast indoor courts, it will be tough for Simona to beat the big hitters in general. It feels like the ball flies faster in Wuhan and Beijing. But there is a reason why Simona stands at the very top of the ladder. Last year Simona did cruise thru very good big hitters like Maria and Ajlona in Beijing. But neither of them had the serve of Naomi.
@saurabhchakrabarty7362

I mean Naomi's service stats are awesome. In Tokyo, she has been broken only once, and broken only 5 times in her last 10 matches. Also in this tournament alone, Naomi has hit 25 aces and 0 double faults. Her first serve points won % are in the good 80's and second serve points won % is in the 70's. That's Serena like Serving stats or may be even better.

Such amazing play from Naomi. Like literally until half a year ago or so, no one could’ve imagined she’d play this calm, confident and composed. I always thought her weakness is a lack of confidence and too much reliance on power tennis trying to finish the point too early. She showed very many improvements on various aspects during this season and now I don’t have to bite on my handkerchief while watching her tennis, as I used to be so scared of watching her hit too hard and blow time after time. I feel privileged as I feel like I’m watching one young player growing into a GOAT. She seems to still have big chunk of room left to get even better. I’m simply impressed. Thank you, Naomi and keep up the great work!!!

The most underrated aspect of Osaka's game is her smart, focused defense. She has the power, but doesn't rely on it all the time -- it's just one of the tools in her toolbox. Camila's team should be taking pages from Osaka's playbook, as defensive play is Giorgi's biggest weakness.
