You got his Harem in the trap, so the Boar wanted to get his girls back. You made a dent in that field but it won't take long to get the numbers back up, that is why the State has determined that the Feral Hogs are a nuisance and can be trapped any time of the year. Good Job David and a very good video of your job.

I'm sitting here watching this and knowing what hard work goes into that! Been there and done that many times on our property. We only have 1 big pen trap but it ain't fancy where we got the set up you do to drop the doors by camera. Ours is trip wire. My dad n law built 20 smaller traps that we put on a trailer and move them around wherever we need to. They all have trip wire doors too. It works great for us. The most we ever caught in one small trap was 10. Two adults @250lbs and 8 piglets @35-50lbs. It's always exciting to see them in a trap but then I dread the dirty work. And you are right...there ain't no doubt on their smell!! One time my dad n law and I were about 400yrds from a trap we put out and it was way back in a brier patch, couldn't see it from our little road, but I had the window down and I told Paw we had hogs because I could smell them from there. He couldn't. Sure enough, we had a huge old rank boar in that trap! Mean as all get out!! Had some long sharp tusks. He was so rank though that we didn't even try to save any meat off of him. You would of smelled it everything you cooked it. But we did cut his head off for a skull mount because his tusks were so long. It's hanging on a tree outside in my yard. Makes a nice conversation piece. Lol! But yeah, we've harvested many a wild pig and given away alot and ate alot too. Finally got it to where there's not hardly any sign of hogs on our property now after 4 to 5 years of trapping them. Not counting what we shot from our deer stands during deer season. Just glad they moved on outta there. I want to convey my condolences to you too. I don't care how old you are, it ain't easy losing your momma. God bless you and your family.
