Nathan you sound just like your father Stan. I never met your father but I use to go to the tribute to Stan Rogers at Hughes Room in Toronto that they had once a year. Stan Rogers is one of the most influential Singers of all times. You can hear it in the lyrics of his songs. You can keep his memory alive.

I never had the opportunity to hear Nathan's father perform live...his beautiful voice was brought to my attention when I was about 19 years old and I was simply taken away with it and then found out he had died. I was so saddened and didn't even know him, just his voice. I'm so glad his son carries that magnificent timbre in his voice and so glad he is out in the world playing music. Although this is an Archie Fischer song, it is one of my favorite songs Stan Rogers ever sang and it was the first song I ever sang on a stage, on my own , playing a guitar at the Iron Horse in Northampton, Massachusetts...it was one of the most magical nights of my life...Stan most certainly graced across the stage as I sang... Cheering Nathan on all the way

Millions and millions listen to dreadful pop culture music but only 139 people have seen this? We are a doomed culture. Nathan's amazing, like his father before him and his uncle Garnet. Great effect with the guitar!

As far as I can tell there are about 4 time signatures going here, and that has to be some trick. The effect is certainly worth the effort. It is absolutely ethereal.

I've followed the evolution of this beautiful song from its author, Archie Fisher, through Stan Rogers and now his son. Each version has been special in some way. It's a beguiling melody and I believe Fisher borrowed it. If I remember right, it's a Basque tune.
