What in the hell was lawrence frank thinking giving kawhi that max deal? 💀 It's been OBVIOUS for YEARS that kawhis knees are PERMANENTLY INJURED. His knees are simply cooked. They should have just traded both kawhi and pg and did a rebuild. They would have substantial assets for the future. No way I'm giving kawhi a max contract at age 33 with shot knees

1) It was not a max. It was significantly below market value, which is why it shocked a lot of people at the time 2) It's not a secret that Kawhi's knees are shot, so why would anyone give up anything significant for him in a trade? 3) They definitely weren't trading PG last season after they were cooking from like December to February, and after that he was a free agent (and obviously untradable) Kawhi's also the only player the Clippers have had in the Steve Ballmer era that has shown to be able to lead a team to a championship. There's no way they weren't giving him that offer
@JonathanEvans1977
2 күн бұрын
@@jgates9786 man it was 3 yr $152 million. If that's not a max it's extremely close to one. I just googled his max would have been 3yr $161 million. So ok even it's technically not a max contract my point still remains the same. A wiser gm would NOT have given him ANY TYPE of major extension given his injury history and knowing his knees are simply done. That 3 yr extension is just as insane as a max contract. "People were shocked"? 😂 they were shocked for the WRONG REASONS . They should have been shocked that the clippers didn't trade him and rebuild rather than giving him 150 million dollars 🤦♂️

These two together are the best. And it’s because of how much they love the game. It’s so clear . It’s like two guys sitting on the stoop for 10 hours talking about hoops. So good. And what’s so great is they say things that ESPN or any network would never let them say. Talking about how players are too involved with their brand, how they’re out of shape, how it’s hurting the game, too many coaches, too much in between the player and actually playing. Freedom to talk. Awesome. I love listening to these two guys.🙏😉💪🏼

This whole rest to preserve players is bogus. MJ missed less than 10 games in the 90s DECADE. if you’re not conditioned to play a whole szn, back2backs then of course you’re more likely to get injured especially at post szn when you’re needed more on the floor. It’s an awful trend, respect to players that put in the work tho it’s their livelihood

Leon Rose was Brunson's and Towns' agent back in the day and it's obvious he thought when he first took the Knicks job that he thought those two could be the core of a title team. And I agree. Towns will be a different player, a much better one, playing with a brilliant point guard in Brunson. And Rose was able to, brilliantly, get two excellent players whose games complement Brunson and Towns so well in Anunoby and Bridges. Rose has coveted those two for a long time and was able to get them. These four are a perfect fit. And then the fifth guy will be either Hart, McBride or Robinson depending on what you need at the time. They all bring something different to the table. Randle did to the Knicks what Carmelo Anthony did to the Knicks. Stop the ball, stop the flow. It's funny, the guy obviously has talent, but, to me, a big part of the trade was getting rid of him, addition by subtraction. From Minnesota's point of view, the trade was a salary dump. They have Gobert and Reid up front and Towns made it three's a crowd. Randle was thrown in just to even up the money and I would be surprised if Minnesota extends him. DiVincenzo is a good player and a good fit for the Wolves, so, to me, the trade for Minnesota was getting rid of an expensive redundant player for a good guard.

29:15-3:20 nice to see people actually walking through it and slowly seeing the vision of why the Mavs added Klay instead of circlejerking about two bad games. He’s washed, but as a roleplayer sitting in the corner he’s gonna hit shots. Genuinely how do you stop the Mavs offense if all three of Luka, Kyrie, and Klay get hot at the same time, while also having 48 minutes of two amazing rolling big men in Lively and Gafford? And yea, there are defensive concerns. But we got Grimes and Naji for a reason. There’s gonna be some absolutely absurd games from this team over the season.

Bottomline. The wolves knew that rudy and kat wasnt a long term tandom especially defensively bc luka picked that shit apart and most guys at that level would. But to get divencenzo in that trade actually improves them rather it being a lateral basketball move. Now its a upgrade and financially helpful for the futre. They knew they couldnt go back thru again like that with only one real dangerous ball handler. Now they have two, three if dillingham is a guy.
