At the start a lot of people said I was insane, stupid, conspiracist nut etc. But now the truth is coming out, they can see I was right with everything I said, including less than 50,000 deaths, old people should be protected/isolated if they want to be, died with doesn't mean died from, faulty tests, Imperials model was BS because the data simply didn't exist to conclude any kind of predictions for the future, hospitals getting incentives to lie, deaths not being reported accurately, flu deaths at an all time record low, meaning they were most likely guessed as covid deaths. The list goes on and it worries me a great deal that others can not see this for themselves to think, hang on a minute. We clearly need to reform our education system and it should be seen as a national emergency to do so, if evidently, our nation is so utterly stupid that the majority, including supposedly well educated people can not see things that were as clear as day to me from the very start.

I feel for you - but the reason why we're still stuck with covid is because there are too many people complaining about having to do the simplest thing like wearing a mask and not going to crowded bars - and the government were too scared to implement more stringent controls. Lockdown was only partially effective because there were too many people ignoring it, not because it was 'too draconian'. So next time you want to make snowflakey assertions about your civil liberties and complain that you were told not to go to the pub for a while - remember that it's that attitude that will make this shitshow last so much longer than necessary.

@@onlybugwit what are you even talking about? I'm assuming you meant months rather than years - but that's entirely irrelevant. The issue is the spike in cases - the massive spike in cases seen after a couple of days of idiots thinking it was all over and crowding into the pubs. Of course the death rate has gone down - it was one of the highest in the world before we figured out how to treat it and the number of cases dropped to a point where the NHS could cope with it. Yes the government have handled this badly - but not because they were too strict - they were too lax. The only countries more lax than us were America and Brazil - and look where they are now. South Korea, Australia and New Zealand had proper lockdown - hardly any deaths and now it's more or less over for them. Sweden did a voluntary lockdown, and they had a higher death rate than all the other scandinavian countries. All the countries that ended lockdown before covid was eradicated have seen massive spikes in cases again. You are an idiot if you think this is some Orwellian plot to control you. I want to hug and be hugged. I want to go to friends homes and have them come to mine. I want to wine and dine in freedom and go to the cinema and sit anywhere, and when it comes to my time to die I want my loved ones to accompany me to hospital if that's the way I go, and to sit with me through my last hours. 40k deaths... there were more than that in many other flu seasons. Its now a casedemic generated from a test kit that gives a 90% false positive. The inventor of the kit specifically said never use it for this purpose because of that. Average mortality is above life expectancy with 2.6 serious illnesses... just wait until all those false positives who die of anything within 28 days of testing 'positive' die from cancer or in car crashes are listed as cv deaths. Just like before. Unfortunately for them Professor Carl Heneghan caught them inflating the figures that way before and they shaved off several thousand deaths. Now though so many people are being tested the odds of deaths rising and being falsely attributed to cv again rises purely because of the huge number of tests they want. Criminal.

Thank you, Neil. You are the voice for so many of us who have been bullied by ‘friends’ for expressing a difference of opinion. I’ve been called vile and selfish. Me, a Nurse who dedicated her career to the care of the elderly and cannot bear the treatment they have and are still receiving so I speak out. I speak out about the lack of robust evidence for laws being imposed in the name of science. I care about the health of everyone. Yet I’m selfish!

I do have some sympathy with Boris over the handling of the pandemic. No other recent government has had to deal with this unique set of circumstances. He must feel as if he knows where he is, has some idea of where he needs to get to, but he doesn't have a map. I doubt if Labour would fare any better and that's probably why Keir Starmer is being so supportive of him. How would you cope?

“we're all in this together” Unless you're an Imperial College computer modeller and you wish to blatantly flout your own lockdown instructions in order to continue your immoral and adulterous affair with your married girlfriend. “we're all in this together” unless you're a senior Government advisor and fancy a 250 mile independent frolic during lockdown so you can “test your eyesight.” “we're all in this together” unless you're old, frail and been sentenced to solitary confinement in your own home or, even worse, a care home which has been riddled with infectious disease due to short-term and short-sighted Government hospital discharge policy. “we're all in this together” unless you're protesting historical slavery and can congregate en masse, ignore social distancing and mask regulations, loot and vandalise at will with no fear whatsoever of any official reprisals. “we're all in this together” unless you live in Leicester, Bradford or East Lancashire and have been singled out and victimised for additional, prejudicial and almost certainly racist additional lockdown measures. “we're all in this together” unless you operate in the shadows relentlessly censoring and deleting anyone with any opinions or arguments, however well researched, rational and factual, that contradict the World Health Organisation party line. “we're all in this together” unless you're a polly-parrot journalist happy to copy and paste whatever Government press releases fall into your lap without any independent research, critical insight whatsoever or consideration of any alternative points of view. “we're all in this together” unless you're an N.H.S. worker concealing the truth about your near-empty pandemic hospitals from the public while preferring to perform TikTok dance routine propaganda. “we're all in this together” unless you happen to question the obvious paradoxes, inconsistencies and statistical lies we're being force fed on a daily basis in which case you're demonised, discredited and castigated into the Conspiracy Theory pit of Hell . “We're all in this together” unless you die of natural causes or an accident when you'll be reported as a “died after testing positive for coronavirus” statistic even if you fell off a cliff, couldn't access life-saving cancer treatment or took your own life because your mental health was destroyed by lockdown. “We're all in this together” unless, through absolutely no fault of your own, you've lost your livelihood due to the economic carnage caused by the Government's hysterical, excessive and arbitrary social control measures. “We're all in this together” unless you're over 75, struggling to make ends meet on your pittance of a state pension and fighting off the B.B.C. licence fee bailiffs at your door who are insistent on you paying them for the privilege of having their expensive, uneconomical and biased propaganda forced down your throat. “we're all in this together” unless you're the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and you're relentlessly pursuing your own egotistical personal agendas of unlimited power, wealth and greed regardless of the genocidal cost to humanity. “We're all in this together” unless you're Sir Patrick Vallance, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Government and you have a £600,000 shareholding in GlaxoSmithCline who are producing and selling the vaccine you're recommending. “we're all in this together” a cesspit of lies, corruption and oppressive tyrannical psychological control. Perhaps that's what the slogan really means; we really are all in this together: Up to our necks and without a paddle.

Ah, Mr Oliver! Thank you so much for putting that into words. I too obey the ''roolz'' and I feel uncomfortably fraudulent in doing so. I hate it - it seems like an emblem of obedience/submission/compliance/acquiescence/deference/conformity. None of which I want. I'm now proud to be one-eighth Scottish! What Neil says about people who conceive it as ''one dimensional'' so that, if someone is ill they are afraid to go to hospital ''in case they catch the virus''.... NO! It's because they know that, if they go to hospital they will be separated from their loved ones in extremis. We are being cheated and manipulated and coerced, people.

When I did politics at college, I remember discussing extremes in politics. One way is to look at the left on one side and the right on the other extreme. The way I liked was starting either with the left and right and then going round in a circle, so extreme left ended up in the same place as extreme right. This is why I as a left leaner am finding myself agreeing with so many people on the right -- such as Toby Young.
