Looks a lot like the shapes of bows found in Minoan and Mycenaean artworks with the tips curving backward when strung. I see that this is a wooden bow and not a composite, do you know the stats on it? It's size when strung and unstrung? What it's full draw length is and draw weight?

Yep, its found heavily in neolithic arabic artwork as well on more poorer people in later arabic artwork. I made it from rattan and i believe it was around 54 inches NTN and it didnt change much in brace since the brace height was around 4, and i belive it weighed around 50 pounds. It was obviously more about the shape rather than the specs.

Would you mind if you talk more about the supposed arab arrows being described as akin to "spindles" by Persians?

Decently well, its not as inefficient as it may seem.

@@almubarizunarchery4607 Would it be good for shorter draw? Just wondering for my crossbow prod design.

@@cool06alt well it would depend on if you value efficiency or not, the design makes it so that the initial tension of the bow is very low, which is not ideal for a crossbow that needs maximum energy over a short powerstroke

Is this a composite bow or just wood?

Just wood, would be a massive waste to make a composite bow with a design that doesn’t utilize its efficiency such as this one
