Thanks for checking out the open beta! The version you played (v0.0.16b) had some issues with drone logic that would cause them to hitch, but this has since been fixed in the latest beta build (v0.0.18b), and a number of other issues are being patched for a 19b release later this week. This was a super content light / streamlined beta to test core game systems; the next one will have units, deeper automation mechanics, large-scale transportation (for creating supply chains), and more advanced defense / offense tools. With all that said, glad you still enjoyed what was in this beta!

The addition of "units" and enemy bases makes me think that the game is moving towards that nebulous mix of automation, tower defense, and RTS best exemplified (to my knowledge) by Mindustry. I wonder how deep they'll go into the automation elements - personally, I'm happy with about this level of resource gathering complexity, at least in the beginning, but a lot of people will definitely want more.

The only problem with Mindustry is that it seems Anuken didn’t really balance the endgame maps… because it gets exceedingly difficult. I had to put months of work in just to get to and beat Planetary Launch Terminal.

@@EpsilonRosePersonal I mean, maybe. They did add Erekir a while ago, but progression on it is slow, there isn't a ton of content, and drops are limited to the named maps on the planet. Framework for new planets has been a major subject of recent mod releases, at least, but it doesn't seem like a lot of developers are releasing world mods with a lot of content.

3:33 i love logistics games. One of the things i liked about creeperworld was managing the packet distribution and relays to speed things up. I will 100% get this game if you can use drones to move resources from sub bases to the main bases and defendinf supply chains!

I believe you can only have 10 of the resource moving drones out at a time, but it doesn't matter anyways because as long as the resources are stored anywhere they can be spent across the entire map

The thing that actually happened with this game, is that when he tried to revamp the coding in it, something in it messed up completely, causing him to have to build it from the ground up. It… was sad, but also quite impressive.

I am fairly sure that can at best be slightly off the mark just due to how I am sure coding works. the "messed up" part would either be a loss of original code (but the classic version still exists so very unlikely, I'd even imagine decompiling to not be so hard as to make a complete rewrite easier) or, more likely, the "structure" of the code is soo bad that fixing it might as well be a full replace at best think a little bit like the difference between a rude goldberg machine and pretty much anything else that is convenient. if your original code is so bad/complicated that it takes forever and is so big just to do a small thing then generally the only way to make it a better contraption that does the same thing is take the whole old one apart rather then relatively minor movements/adjustments of every single piece maybe can be imagined a bit like someone trying to unstich a shirt to make better stiching of the original design? can't just adjust things generally but need to take it all apart, and even then would need outside input

looks to me that the ai hitches when you go to update a porter without doing both input and output, so changing just the zoning for where things get placed breaks it

Play this more! Barely anyone makes videos on this.. oh and focus on econ & researching all available options otherwise you over exhaust your resources
