Here is my sob story. Bought a Shadow 2 SAO last Aug. Never shot it. Lost my job in Oct last year, boss died. It sits as a safe queen. Can't even afford the gas or range prices, ammo not a problem. So I keep it NIB. The SAO are no longer made. Cant pay my rent. No one i know can afford a 1400 pew pew. I could, until i couldn't. First world problems.

Not a fan of the big decock levers. I'd prefer something lower profile on a Beretta 92 like the slide mounted Wilson Combat Lo-Profile Safety Lever/Decocker, or those on the CZ P-01 or SIG Sauer P229, if I wanted a metal frame DA pistol. Not sure I want a metal frame... a HK P2000 with the rear mounted decock lever, ambidextrous mag release levers, and low profile accessory rail (HATE Picatinny rails which catch on clothing and holsters) might be the perfect midsize 9mm defensive pistol... an underrated gem.

Beretta’s are amazing but they are so disappointing lately. $45 for the plate give me a break. A lot of manufacturers sell very quality guns for way less than this and it comes with five or six optic plates just a rip off. Just irritates me because I like their products but that’s irritating.

And most of the guns you're thinking about that give you a "free" plate(s) are polymer frame guns so it's easy for these folks to be generous with them. Lol! I'd rather have anything in the Beretta 92 series and have to pay a little extra for a plate, knowing full well that it'll be installed on a quality steel and aluminum frame gun than on a mass produced product that doesn't cost much more than $150.00 to produce and sells for a little over two and a half times the price. I own several Glock pistols (G30 Gen 4 and a G36 Gen 3) and while they are decent firearms, they certainly aren't in the same league as a Beretta 92 or one of the better 1911's in production today. Firearm manufactures have managed to get the general public to fall in love with their products, a sizable portion of which contain polymer, which in the overall picture doesn't cost them much of anything to produce in the first place. Package deals (i.e. extra plates and grip inserts) always sound great until you take a closer look at them and realize that they're still pulling in a considerable amount of scratch on the sale of each gun. I absolutely do want the firearms industry to not only survive/thrive but as a consumer of these products, we all need to do a better job of educating ourselves on what constitutes a "good deal" in this day and age.

. I don't dare judge the ballistics, as much as the system is super-tested as the caliber 9x21IMI or 9x19 do not need any confirmation. As for quality, all Berettas of all models are a guarantee, passed from father to son for several generations without hesitation on the functioning or particular signs of wear. As for the grip, however, I prefer the old one, this one contrasts, for rigidity, with the soft lines of the Italian style.
