To clarify: you let the cupcake come to room temperature before serving. The frosting will not melt or lose its shape - it’s buttercream, it’s stable at room temp. It’s not ice cream! 😂 And freezing the cupcake does not dry it out. It actually makes them more moist! I freeze all my cakes for this reason. For everyone saying it should be two hemispheres: please watch the entire video. For everyone saying I should add blood: I didn’t do that cause to me, brains aren’t bloody. I get that in like Halloween movies and stuff they’re more gory but I was going for just anatomic brains here! For everyone saying they’ve seen this before: I’d love for you to share! I did a bunch of research before posting this vid but that doesn’t mean I didn’t miss anything. But note: I’m not claiming to have invented brain cupcakes. Just this specific technique to make them ❤ Oh and PS - just because a creator doesn’t agree with what you say doesn’t mean they’re being rude or attacking you. Add: a lot of you guys keep send me a link to another baker doing this technique and saying “SEE someone else did it first!!!” but her video was published a few days after mine. Please check your dates before trying to come at me (again).

It’s so wild to me that people read into her comments so much and project their own need of ownership over this technique. She was very clear in the video that she doesn’t claim the brains, just using a silicone half-circle mold upside down + the freezer, and despite tons of people saying they’ve “done it in their kitchen,” and others saying there IS proof online, I see no links, directions to search results that show this technique, or any other proof to suggest that anyone else invented this. And just because she set a boundary for herself (or however she thought of it) that this was something she was willing to stand up for because you’re allowed to claim ideas that don’t come from other people, that are all your own, and are not searchable easily on the internet, she’s rude, entitled, a narcissist, a jerk, you have an attitude, etc? Idk there’s a hint of the smell of sexism there, related to women claiming and taking ownership over something AND even more than that, a woman who isn’t trembling and non-confrontational. I guess I understand the concept of “invent” on legal and practical level that they don’t (my dad was an inventor and worked with Kimberly Clark and 3M and did tons of guest lecturing for PhD students, so I grew up with it and he was very clear with me about what it is and isn’t; my mom is a culinary instructor for mass quantity foods/catering and foreign foods + more) sooooo *I* know that there is legal precedent to catalogue a recipe as copyrighted, but even then, this shit isn’t going into the library of congress (assuming Canada’s similar bureau is the same name? Might be different). Anything that is *within* a recipe - technique (like this), instruction, or step - has no legal claim to copyright or other forms of ownership. What this means, practically, is that anyone who the idea occurs to without outside influence DID invent it. Beyond that level of claim, there is only colloquial use of the term “invention,” and in the wider public eye, online or in print, the first person to PUBLICLY SHARE has claim it the invention of the technique, if it’s not ripped from someone else they saw *do* it. You can argue with her up, down, and all around, but the reality is that she can claim invention all she wants, and if you disagree with her, that could also be true but there’s no ultimate truth on the matter. What I’m seeing in the comments is that she says she invented the technique of using a half round silicone mold, upside down, and freezing it to make the already well established recipe for brain cupcakes. It’s REALLY hard to establish that someone has publicly given that instruction, especially since people are claiming these things were made 30-40 years ago or more. I didn’t realize we had commercially available silicone molds in the 90s! Not in my home. I’m sure she has done thorough research, in my cursory research out of curiosity, I saw nothing of the sort and it was hard to find techniques beyond the ingredient list and the muffin method for this anyway! Now here’s the real point that makes the argument against her and “her attitude” most ridiculous: seeing as this is a public opinion matter and not a legal or governmental patent matter, she can *absolutely* claim that she invented it and be right just on the basis of coming up with it without copying anyone. She is logically being honest, and really did come up with it. She is not obligated to say that everything has been thought of by now and it’s got to have been someone else’s idea. She looked. By saying she invented it, she is not saying no one else thought of it or practiced it before her. She is literally claiming that, as far as she knows, she is the first to have come up with the idea without outside influence and publish and public record of doing so. “I invented this” does not mean, “no one has thought of this before me,” or “it’s impossible that anyone else has a family practice of using this.” It literally means, colloquially and according to policies and practices in baking and in social media, that she thought of it independently and decided to publish it. Also - lest people misunderstood, she clearly mentioned that she’s only talking about the freezing the upside down silicone half circle mold technique and NOT the brain cupcakes. She’s saying she came up with a less messy and easier way to make something that can be difficult to pipe and keep on the cupcake, that’s ALL. Just like that is real, here’s the other thing: she HAS NOT, a SINGLE TIME, claimed that no one thought of this before her, but despite much argument and claim to evidence to the contrary, nothing has appeared. I’ve not seen EVERY comment, but I’ve gone through a lot of them and I don’t see anyone actually providing links (I know they don’t work in comments anymore, but even typing them out), search terms, references to print publications, or other evidence. Again, people have claimed they provided this and then said that she deleted comments, but I can’t find any evidence that that has occurred. Finally, calling people losers for taking time to use KZitem comments is the height of irony. I don’t think that’s what makes people losers. I think inferring aggression because a woman defended her claim is really fuckin loser behavior, it’s peak sexism and projection. And I think saying the same horrible thing that’s been said 10+ times to a creator that you tag, and then get mad at her for being slightly sarcastic in her exasperation at being constantly called back to this to the same words and claims… that’s loser shit. I disagree that she faultless, but the faults that have occurred have been highly understandable. I don’t think a little sarcasm is the best way to handle argument, but I’d be a LOT more frustrated and perhaps less composed in the same circumstance, so I commend the composure and honestly very polite and direct replies to being called names and awful things over a fucking cupcake. No one, of any sex, owes you deference and politeness when you don’t give them the most basic human dignity. Remember here - this is a real person with a real life, and she has to deal with a barrage of insults because she casually claimed she found a less messy way to make brain cupcakes. Ask yourself, fully and honestly, would you give the same energy to your sister or your mom making the same claim? A close female friend or your girlfriend? If yes, errrrrr yikes those poor women. And if you think that you’d give that energy because of the responses - would you really, IRL? I don’t think so. I don’t think someone chuckling under their breath or being a little sarcastic has the same weight as saying to someone’s face that they’re arrogant and a loser for answering you, or a narcissist or mean and entitled. In those circumstances, a cough or chuckle is just a sign that that person has confidence in themself and feels comfortable that they don’t deserve that reaction, so they’re coping with laughter or a small remark to ease the tension they feel. That is ALSO not something to punish with insults and constant, minute by minute demands that they pay attention (tagging) to your insults. And with that, I bid you all adieu. I will not be checking my notifications, I never really do, so feel free to call me terrible names if you want a public record of that kind of behavior to exist, I guess. I am pretty confident in my stance, and I also don’t have much investment beyond the sexist attitudes I see (oh no, I’m an SJW, I see things that don’t exist and create woman problems because blah blah blah misandrist). It’s my opinion that women have a right to communicate directly and in defense of themselves and not be read the way we see in the comments, and that’s my biggest beef with this comment section and this whole argument. Edit: Small error in grammar (changed were to was)

lmao I literally just read a comment by this creator that says "if someone invents something, but someone else publicly shows it first and gets credit, then the second person actually invented it" LOL. The second person could have literally stolen it from the first person, just because they got official credit doesn't make it correct (NOT saying that's what she did, just saying her arguments are absurd). Does she also think every law is automatically 100% correct and fair and just, JUST because it's a law?? If someone files the patent first (if this was even patentable, which is not) it's correct to say that they patented it, but that doesn't mean they necessarily actually invented it, even though that should be the case if they're above board.

Yes, that’s what I said, because it’s true. I didn’t say it’s completely fair, but it’s how it works. It also wouldn’t be fair to give credit to people who say they did it first if they don’t have evidence because people can easily lie. It’s not a crazy concept that you need to have proof…
