Definitely. I'm plan on making a trip to Brazoria county to collect seeds. It's not that far from me.

I love lizards!! 6:25 ♥ The corner is looking great! and I have to say, I love Cara Caras I wish I could also plant one, but I'm afraid the squirrels will chew them all. Looking forward to see it grow! 🌴🌴🪴🪴

I'm trying to practice a thing called "Restraint"! Plus I have so many gardens to put in so I need to spread out my $$$.

Looks like you’ve got a great start! And I love the anoles!! So where you don’t have existing plants, *especially* if you have Bermuda grass, just use herbicide. I know this because I am still dealing with stubborn turf and some weeds 2 years later.

Thanks! Unfortunately I have some Bermuda mixed in with St Augustine so it's my first time dealing with it. I've heard horror stories. Thanks for the advice.

I sure hope so, I'm not sure what to expect with the summer heat here. Hopefully everything has time to establish.

Although I was really depressed for you that you had to leave your beautiful garden that you had put so much effort into I'm excited to see what you do with your new one.

It was hard, I try not to think about it. A "Generational" cold event hit the week after I left so I imagine there was a lot of damage, without my care. I can only focus on the yard in front of me. The progress is slow but at least I'm making some.

@tropicalpdx1341 give stellar ruby magnolia a try. I just got one and I'm totally in love with it just from the foliage alone.

@@markcrooks2455 Ha! Great minds think alike. I got one a a few months back and yes its such a great plant, that I'm thinking I want a couple more. I totally agree with you, the flowers are nice but the foliage is great. It's been a pretty fast grower in the couple months its been in the ground.

@tropicalpdx1341 that's too funny. I've been thinking of ordering a couple more myself.

Are those hybrids mules? If so did you find those online or local? Haven't been able to find any online this year.

These hybrid palms are not mules, but more of a specialty cross not available in stores. These are Butia Yatay x Parajubaea sunkha. If you are looking for the standard mule (Butia odorata x Syagrus romanzoffiana) look for the Ebay seller called Gator Ventures. Scott is good to deal with and I bought 4 small mules from him this year already.

Now that your in Texas have you thought about planting ,arenga engerli, the dwarf sugar palm, I have a pretty large one in my house and it does good indoors too.

Yes I have, it's a palm I really like. I had one and sold it before I left because I thought I would have no issues getting one down here. Big mistake! Definitely on my hit list and glad to hear others are doing well with them.
