I share with you a New Toyota problem that I've never seen before in my long career as a Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician.
Power steering fluid in Toyota and Lexus Products don't really have an interval of replacement recommend. However you want to regularly check the fluid and when you notice it getting darker, do replace it.
If you ever notice staining of the power steering reservoir change the fluid immediately and attempt to replace it again after a short time to clear any debris.
This otherwise perfectly working power steering pump in this 2004 Lexus LS430 suddenly started whining and completely stopped working because of the clogged screen in the reservoir that no matter what we did, it won't clear up requiring the replacement of the power steering pump and reservoir.
