Alex Zahnd explains how newly and renovated homes in Mohari village (North Latitude: 29° 20’ 06" / East 82° 22’ 28”, Altitude 3'141 meters (10'305 ft) above sea level), in the north-eastern part of the Jumla district, are added and connected to the existing "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" Underground Mini-Grid. The "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" with 6 Pelton turbines, was developed and built from 2016 - 2018, starting to produce 24/7 electricity for the Mohari village in the Nepal Himalayan on the 30th November 2018. That means, on August 13th 2024 the "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant" has been running NON-STOP without ANY interruption of producing electricity to the village for 50'000 hours. This, FIRST of its kind "Modular Pico-Hydro Power Plant", can "grow" in its power output over the years, IF the village/users have the need for more power and can afford it, up to 10 turbines in series.
