Can you talk about histogram, in your Wallaby image highlights appear blown in the histogram, I can find nothing on this for Studio?

I'm a bit late to the party and you've maybe covered it since but you really should try the Control Points in lieu of grad filters and brushes. Another lesson to cover?

Charles, thanks for putting this together. Have you encountered any performance issues while working on raw photos? My computer is pretty decent, but still I'm frequently struggling with performance issues :(
@CharlesNPhotography
Жыл бұрын
Yes, NX Studio is sluggish, even on my PC. It's a know fact. But when you think that this software is free and pretty good at editing photos, I accept this. Nikon does know of this issue but for now isn't doing anything about it.

Finally someone who dares to say that NX Studio is slow. But in terms of rendering, it beats all the majors like Lightroom and Capture One !
@CharlesNPhotography

Thank you, even with the latest update to NX Studio, it's still slow. But I don't think that Nikon's worried about this, as they were just wanting to give their supporters a Free Editing Program.

I just enjoy this guy, and his approach to cameras, Photography, and his down to Earth style, and presentation. Another good video Charles! Glad to be a recent Subscriber! Is that a D500 and the 200-500 lens on your desk? Just curious 🤔😃 Stay safe and Healthy 👍👍👍👍✌🏻😃📷

Thank you for your comments, they are very much appreciated, and you've described me to a T. Yes that is a Nikon D500 and the Nikon 200-500mm f5.6 lens. This is the gear that I use to take Wildlife Photos.

Enjoyable and informative as always. I usually have to add some clarity and sharpening also. But that's because my current equipment is very old. ;) My current software combo is Nikon ViewNX-i for reviewing my RAW files and Affinity Photo for editing. Some of the software I previously used include Capture NX-D, Gimp, Lightroom and Photoshop to name a few.

Does active d-lighting add noise? Great series by the way.
@CharlesNPhotography
Жыл бұрын
Not that I know of! Active D-lighting tried to balance the dark shadows with the bright highlights to give you a more correctly exposed image. Works with JPG, and doesn't affect the RAW file

Do you export to TIFF or JPEG?
@CharlesNPhotography
Жыл бұрын
I export my photos as JPG and if it's to share on Facebook,then I export the photo at 2048 pixels on the longest edge. 👌
@intercoolerintercooler4406
Жыл бұрын
@@CharlesNPhotography I read TIFF contains much more information and the file size says the same.
@CharlesNPhotography
Жыл бұрын
@@intercoolerintercooler4406 That is incorrect, a TIF file is much bigger. A JPG life at 2048px in length is 1.2mb, at TIF file the same size is 8mb in size.

NX need s few tweaks, but overall, it's perfect for Nikon RAW files. Would like to know if you downloaded the image from the camera or did you download the file onto the computer and then import from the computer. Excellent. Need more NX tutorials.
