Not personally, but I've heard quite a few. Stanley Clarke, Hansford Rowe, Geddy Lee, John Wetton, Mike Watt, Trey Gunn, Tony Levin, Les Claypool, Jaco Pastorius, just to name a few.

That was the first time they ever publicly played that song. They actually did that concert to pay for gas to get to california to record nevermind! This footage is gold!

Amazing. I love how Kurt's voice can sound so different depending on what live show you are watching. His voice is REALLY high here for some reason. I love it. It is like a whole other dimension to the song, it is a fresh way to listen to a song that has been played to the extreme.

I wish i could see the exact moment he changed the lyrical melody to make it more hardcore.... He had to have had the thought that people would bang to the verse melody alot easier than with this one.. but i do love this one as well. kurt was smart :)

Lol charles cross talks about this performance in Heavier Than Heaven and says that were was 1 second of silent pause by the crowd at the end of the performance because it was like "oh my GOD i've never heard anything like this before...my brain needs time compute what an incredible thing this is...". I didn't the impression the crowd paused at all lol...talk about romanticising things... But yeah, it is an awesome performance! 5 stars!

Another excellent example. That reminds me of another one: Sting. He used to play an 8-string fretless back in the day with The Police, and very rarely hit a bad note. It seems that McCartney and Sting are often overlooked as bass players because of their songwriting talents, but they are both straight money on their instruments. And as far as special bass runs go, John Illsley was great in Dire Straits, but was never flashy.
