INGREDIENTS
Cake
▪️2 Cups All Purpose Flour
▪️1 Cup Sugar
▪️2 Tsp Baking Soda
▪️1/4 Tsp Salt
▪️2 Eggs
▪️1/3 Cup Oil
▪️1 Cup Buttermilk (1 Cup Evaporated Milk + 1 Tbsp Vinegar)
Salted Caramel Sauce
▪️2 1/2 Cup Evaporated Milk
▪️1/4 Kg (1 1/3 Cup) Brown Sugar
▪️4 Tbsp Cornstarch
▪️2 Tbsp Butter
▪️1 Tbsp Salt
PROCEDURE
Cake
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
2. Add eggs, oil and buttermilk. Mix until well combined.
3. Pour enough amount of cake batter on each llanera greased with oil and butter.
4. Cover each llanera with foil.
5. Steam the cake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Salted Caramel Sauce
1. In a pan over low heat, combine milk, brown sugar and cornstarch.
2. Cook until the mixture is thickened.
3. Add butter and salt. Mix well until incorporated.
Assembly
1. Transfer cake to your desired container.
2. Add 1/2 Cup Salted Caramel Sauce to each Cake.
3. (Optional) Top the cake with sprinkles or salt.
