It is truly refreshing when a woman builds up other women rather than tear them down which seems to be the social norm the older we are. Our life’s journey shows up on our bodies. Means we lived to tell the story. You all are lovely and loved💕

Susan, what a very thoughtful introspection in your comment today. You are so right. I have found in my life when I interviewed celebrities that the bigger the celebrities usually the more humble they were. It was those that were wannabes that were demanding and not so nice. we all have to lift one another up and not tear each other down.❤️

Mary Ann, German shepherds are one of the most loyal breeds ever. I got a German Shepherd puppy when I was about nine or 10 years old and she was my best friend, protector and so loyal to me. She lived until I was a little over 23 years old. Even when I went to college she waited for me to come home every summer and was still as loyal as she was from the first day I got her. Belladonna will always be there for you. ❤️

I am 52 and I can honestly say, this is the best part of my life! I'm 10 years away from retirement, my kids are grown and doing well. I was a single mother with two children 13 months apart, and I also worked two jobs just to put food on the table and clothes on our backs. Those years were so stressful and I look back and have no idea how we made it through. I had no child support whatsoever. Now, I can finally breathe and have all the time for myself! Plus grandkids are the best! I can spend the time with them, that I didn't have with my own children being in survival mode. I have wrinkles, grey hairs but I feel I earned them and wear them proudly!! I hope I look half as good as you when I'm your age!!! Love your channel!!!💜

I agree that advertising has a lot to do with it. The beauty companies couldn’t sell their products if they didn’t put fear into us about wrinkles and aging and sagging and that we will be less than desirable unless we use their products to keep ourselves physically looking young. It’s all a manufactured hype. We have all bought into it and here we are trying to stop the natural aging process because we are undesirable and unworthy unless we do. ❤️

I am gradually learning to live in the moment and how much better life is when I do that - it’s all we have, after all. I am also learning to hand things over to God and I notice how much more relaxed I am when I do this. I will never give up, I take care of my skin, eat plant based, and drink my water, although every sip is torture. I will dress and put make up on everyday, it just makes you feel better. I could not wait to retire not because I hated my job I just couldn’t stand the prejudices of Ageism in the work force. You become invisible and your opinion doesn’t matter. I retired at 64 and now I am 69. Even though I sometimes miss the social aspect getting dress and having someplace to go it was time to leave. I also had to give up a friendship with a friend because she was so obsessed with staying young and criticized other women on their looks. Would I love to be young again sure, but that ship has sail, and I am more at peace with myself not feeling the pressure of feeling bad because I am “old”. I have learn to accept and love myself and be the best I can be and like the old poem “grow old with me the best is yet to be” . Sandra you are beautiful 🌺

Dear Sandra: Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm so very tired of the term, "anti-aging", and, I completely agree with you. The beauty industry is to blame, as if aging were some horrific disease to be avoided at all costs. The issue is also with our society at large..I'm 70, but, I feel very young on the inside. However, we do become "invisible", because men no longer notice us, younger people don't want to hear our words of wisdom, and, we are treated like pieces of furniture. Despite that, your advice is well taken. I will try to remember this going forward. You are as wise as you are elegant and beautiful. Wishing you blessings; stay safe and well. When we are young why do most of us do that? I think it’s probably because when we are young we really do not have a conception of our time here.❤️

Sandra, I've not read anywhere in the comments about women who have no examples of the aging process through close relatives. My mother was not a nurturing person, I had no aunts, sisters or cousins to me through... I'd like to applaud you for sharing your walk through so many of your life experiences. Your honest open feelings connected to your life has been so helpful to my soul. I try very hard to enlighten my own daughters & granddaughters. You're a beautiful lady in all areas of life. God will continue to bless you dear lady💃💯%

I am 72. I go through different feelings of aging. Sometimes I get down and feel like I am just a bother to people. Other times I have such a positive mindset. People are amazed when I tell them my age. And sometimes I feel the age I look, and other times I feel so much older, both physically and mentally. Thank you for your talk and your example.

It really is work to try to feel positive every day, but I have a little secret. I start my day with one tiny thing that I am grateful for. It’s amazing how that snowballs through the day and gets bigger and bigger. If I start out with a negative thought it’s all downhill that day.❤️

You speak such truths in this video. We ARE told that we have to stay young, that we aren't viable if we are older. Such bunk!! Do things that make you FEEL young and vibrant. Do things that matter to you. Do things that make you feel good. The rest will fall into place.

Sandra, I love your intro; the poem, the scenery, the music, your caring words... Beautiful! Thank you for this video and all of the wonderful things you share with us. I've always, even as a child, enjoyed being around people older than I am. I knew they knew more than I did. So here I am, now 77 and still wanting to be around those who have different perspectives and experiences they can share with me, many lessons learned and yet to be learned. I realize even more that I too need to share, to contribute. And, guess what... When I'm contributing and focused on others, it's impossible to be invisible. Another big WIN/WIN! I'm thankful for you and those who comment. You shine light on my path. Again, thank you!

I’m in my mid 40s and peri menopausal. I can’t tell you how many women I know, including my own mother, who don’t like talking about aging. It’s as if menopause is a dirty word 🥺
@lifewithsandrahart

Isn’t that such a shame. Menopause is a natural event that all of us go through. Women who have hysterectomies may go through it earlier than nature has scheduled. Aging is not a dirty word. As long as we are aging we’re still here on this planet we have a chance to lead a full and wonderful life. I consider aging part of tiny freedom years!!! ❤️

I just discovered you by accident while searching for 60s TV makeup references (for Halloween). I’m 22, and I think the only thing that frightens me about aging are the health problems I might inherit from my mom. The women on her side of the family tend to die young, and my mom herself passed away nearly 3 years ago, aged 56. She and I were extremely close and the loss was sudden and quite traumatic for me; I’m still grappling with it. I just wanted to comment and say that you seem like such a wonderful woman, and you really remind me of her. You’re just as beautiful, wise, and well spoken as she was. I could practically hear her going “That’s right!!” throughout the entire video. I got a little emotional, but it was very cathartic, so thank you. I really needed to hear #2. Sending you a big virtual hug. You’re doing great work uplifting women on this channel and I salute you for it. ❤️❤️❤️

A very kind hello and a great big welcome to you. Genetics play a very important part on how we live our lives and age. But we can change that dynamic. My mother, grandfather and all of my aunts all had type 2 diabetes when they were in their 60s. My aunt died in a diabetic coma. I am sure that I probably have inherited that gene , so I am very careful about my sugar intake. All of my cousins and aunts are overweight, too. My mother was slender so I think I inherited her genetics, but I am always aware of what perhaps I have inherited genetically. Try to investigate the causes of the early deaths by the females in your family and make sure that you’re taking advanced steps to protect yourself against those illnesses. You can reverse the course of your own destiny by being pro active. You are so young you still have many chapters and many wonderful adventures ahead of you. Thank you ever so much for stopping by today and I hope I will see you again soon. Your mother sounds as though she was such a lovely woman.❤️

I developed some autoimmune disorder symptoms after I had a tubal ligation using titanium clips. I’ve had them for years now and have figured out natural methods to lessen the symptoms, and am getting them removed at some point, hopefully. The tubal ligation didn’t even prevent my third pregnancy (for which I am blessed). I’m so happy you feel better now. You’re blessed.

Leah, I do hope you’ll be able to have those titanium clips removed sometime in the future. Autoimmune illnesses seem to be so prevalent today. I had PMR which is one illness that goes away as fast as it comes and my daughter has an autoimmune condition also. As you said, I’m so fortunate that it went away. I have always believed that when possible natural is the best.❤️

Oh I’m so happy to hear that. As I said before I’m not always sure what I have to say will mean anything to anyone. But this aging for women in this country is so messed up. Inspiring video and I am so glad you were able to overcome your disease. We also have to keep in mind people, like my sister, who could over come her MS and had her life shortened. She passed away at age 58 after years of struggle. She had a great attitude and the grace to handle what had happened to her. Everyday I am thankful that I reached the age of 71 and always remember there are many people who do not have that option. I try to live my life to fullest, remembering that Phyllis didn’t get that opportunity.

Carrie, I am so sorry to hear about your sister, her suffering and your great loss. I know sometimes when we see our loved one suffer it is hard on us because we would like to take away their pain and their affliction. Unfortunately, it’s beyond our power to understand why this happens to either us or to others that we love. The best thing I have found that I’m trying to do is while I’m still here to make my life matter even in some very small way. I am sure you are doing the same in the memory of your sister, Phyllis.❤️

Hello Sandra, nice to meet you my name is Liedy and you are my spoonful of medicine today. Your story of being diagnosed at 65 and your belief faith and tenacity for 6 years shows that our thoughts and attitudes are our so important as I say to my hubby staying in the game. Today at 70 I'm experiencing some medical issue nothing life-threatening but definitely debilitating, I must admit I have been feeling a little sorry for myself I'm not that kind of individual at all , so now Im also angery that I'm feeling this way. At 70 I'm a work in progress and hope to be till my last day on this earth, it's been extremely difficult for me to allow myself to be vulnerable give myself permission to go throught these issues. Thanks for the No Nosence Advise chat. As I remind my adult children and Grandchilder enjoy the journey today live and love and dance , the destination is the end of the Chapter THE END 🌹

Always remember that nothing ever stays the same and tomorrow is another day to make things better. Baby steps are the biggest steps that you can take right now facing your issues. You can do this. Never forget that you are worthy and deserve the best life ever by thinking of at least one small positive thing in your day. Sandra, I think you are actually getting younger looking and even more beautiful on your journey! You just glow! I’m 73 soon to be 74 in a couple of weeks. We’ve recently lost three irreplaceable family members two of which were my youngest brother and my sister by marriage. This morning I found myself sobbing over reading on the news, about a 13 year old boy found dead with his dog on his lap in the fires out west. I started crying out to my dear God Jehovah through his son Christ Jesus and one of my dear brother’s favorite Scripture passages came to mind, Revelation 21:3,4. It’s all in my Creator’s hands delegated to His son to wipe out all our tears permanently in the future. In the meantime, it’s up to me to have the privilege, while I’m still living, to be the most loving and giving person I can be in the service of others.🙏❤️. Sandra I truly love you for all your wonderful qualities as a devoted wife to you husband, mother to your children and for showing such kindness to others.❤️

I know I am aging differently from my grandmother. (Lost my mother when she was in late 40s.) Lost my aunt when she was 97, just 6 yrs back. While I am proud to have her as my role model...but I know her footsteps are not mine. Your experience must have been so frightening. Will power is often under estimated. We do find faith is more important. Embracing age is better. But sad to say, some women are youthful outside but old & grumpy inside.😎
