What ammo how many grain bullets? Have you tried using a medium such as gel or water?

WWB 230gr ball, I have and it does get a touch better. Just can't stand the nasty residue left in the can after using wire pulling gel

It might not be as quieter compared to the full size 45 Octane or even the 45 Osprey, but because it is on the compact side, it is perhaps a bit more practical than the full size variants just because the FNX 45 Tactical is already a fairly large handgun; it saves a little bit more on total weight (maybe not by a whole lot but some). But I suppose all things have their trade offs and with that their pros and cons. Cool stuff man keep it up. 👍

I don't regret buying it, just wish I had done a bit more research. Hindsight is 2020. Knowing what I do now I probably would have waited and ordered something quieter but at the time it was the best option available. Plus I got lucky and had a three month turnaround on my tax stamp so I can't really be too upset

.45 is subsonic to begin with so how loud could it be? I run one on an HK USP 45 tactical and its super quiet.

Yes it's subsonic but it's still pretty loud. Probably all about perspective though, I have a lot of experience with a lot of different silencers

Maybe try using some soft-shooting cowboy loads?
@PracticalTacticalSheepDog

that's a no go with the FNX45, it was developed with hot military ball ammo in mind and has very strong springs. low velocity steel case ammo cycles but just barely, cowboy loads probably wouldn't even try to cycle.

I have the same can but haven’t used it yet. That’s kind of disappointing but I knew what to expect with this can. I’m curious how it sounds as a 9mm suppressor host. Is it at least hearing safe?
@PracticalTacticalSheepDog

It's Hearing safe but definitely not something I'd want to shoot all day without earpro. About the same with 9mm just with a slightly different tone

I dont understand people who buy the K model and act surprised when its not that quiet. In my opinion unless you’re an “operator” the short compact cans that are all the rage are pretty much useless. If I buy a silencer it’s because I want it to be as quiet as possible. I hate the K models. The first thing I think when I see the K in the title is its gonna be louder and still cost just as much. Whats the point?
@PracticalTacticalSheepDog

I generally agree although there are exceptions to that. 5.56 I always use a K can since it's going to be loud as heck anyway. Honestly the Octane 45k is pretty long for being a K can.
