Lovely tutorial. Adding scratchbuilt elements really makes GW terrain come alive. Like it's a real lived-in place, not just a gigantic sterile warehouse to fight in. Obviously there is also a strong economic argument for making your own pieces too, of course 😅

Additional tip: buy A4/US-letter label paper (you can get them as 1 big label) and print on that to make gluing easier and more even. Peel off part of the backing and use a ruler to evenly stick the label to your card/foamcore. Just like oldschool stickyback plastic book covering. A bit more expensive, but a quality of life upgrade.

That’s probably why it fell off. 🤣 You’re absolutely right of course, but as an exercise in speed - cutting 35-45 degree braces at the correct length for the gate width to make a cross was way more Pythagoras than I wanted to explain in a quick simple build. 👍🏼😜

i worked on making your first release set of laser cutting files into a 3d printed one. and i did make one building. but i found the plans make a lot of parts that i don't see any use for or that don't fit they way i expect. don't think i did them wrong but its a possibility.
@thestateofplay2023
11 ай бұрын
Yeah the set has load of extra parts in case you wanted to swap out walls., or panels or bits. Best to only cut or print the bits you want. Mainly for a laser cutter. 3D printing it would be a solid challenge to figure out which bits you’d need and which you wouldn’t.
