Nottingham Analogue for me are the best turntables for the money. I had a fully tricked out Ace Spacedeck with the Wave Mechanic, fitted with a Lyra Clavis DC cartridge,…stunning! Sold it when I relocated from the UK to the USA and its the one item I still miss

Great video....Im a lucky owner of a Hyperspace....which I bought used on the audio market...but needed some loving care....I think it was in the early 2000 2003...anyway a call went out to Mr. Tom Fletcher and we spoke and he agreed....got the turntable base plus New inter platter ....table came back like new...just beautiful....I use a Jelco 9 inch tonearm....but maybe next year I would like to upgrade to there 12 inch arm if possible...Tom was a great human being....I was sadded when I heard he passed away....but he left us these great pieces of musical art.....again great video !!!!....Ed from New York.....😎🌉🌃🎶🎵🎶

Good to see you did'nt have any problems with the tonearm cables fitting on ti the cartridge pins. I just removed a Stanton 881's and replaced it with a Dynavector DV23R. Pin differences. Pain in the ass.

I found this video fascinating thank you for sharing. I especially liked your comments on cartridge set up and alignment. I use a protractor and test record that I picked up from a hifi show back in the 1980’s and used to spend hours fiddling to get things right. These days post Covid I struggle just to stand up so those days are unfortunately in the past.

This has got to be one of the most fascinating videos I’ve watched on turntables. As one familiar with the simplicity of Rega turntables, the sheer mass of this Nottingham turntable, it’s heavy base, and multiple mystery bands stupefies me. You have clearly presented and contrasted the two approaches to turntable design, and even pointed out that mid mass turntables that are suspended also have other issues going . A rather long video but worth every minute of watching due to the amount of information given ( advantages of 12 inch arms, problems with linear tracking arms, setting the bias etc). Even the nudge given to start the massive platter was amazing. Lastly, showing the size comparison with the P10 at the end of the video was shocking. It looked like a David and Goliath comparison. This is a video worth watching over and over again if you are into turntables and want to learn about the intricacies of turntable design. Great, great video!!

I didn't remember I had reviewed this "Bozo" before. I still hold he speaks quickly and with that upper class British tone to cover up his lack of technical knowledge of the equipment he "reviews!" He's a fake!

eugene the expert -- would you care to share your credibility that entitles you to get away with your criticism? And by the way the presenter (or Bozo to you it seems) probably cried laughing at his accent being called British upper class, I think you'll find it's a normal North West of England accent, not that it matters at all and reflects on you more than your intended target.

Nice video, over two weeks I'm going for the Hyperspace. Take my current player to the shop and first try to enjoy my old player and then set my grado cardridge over to the Nottingham. Then I have got an idea what to espect. You give a nice review on your player. Thumbsup

A year ago, after thinking I was going completely digital - I bought a Space 294. Running thru a Lyra and EAR phono stage and all I can say is it lights up the air. Brilliant turntable. I am interested on your thoughts of the heavy kit. Also thanks for the setup video - I learned a few things. And yes the bias adjust is simply brilliant. Best regards from NYC

Wow you knocked up this "quality" video very very quickly - especially as you`re by yourself seemingly. Let me just say when I found your channel I was like," why is this fellow going off on a tangent all the time"? But I`ll be honest I`m use to it/you now & it makes for the video & learning experience so don`t stop on my account(lol). (One of the)best part of this video was the very last part with the comparison & you`re are totally correct I didn`t realise exactly how BIG the Nottingham turntable is,I know exactly the size of a P8 & that the P10 is about the same size. Great looking & probably great sounding turntable I`ve never heard one so can`t say for definite,but how does the 294 & the P10 compare on sound quality(I know the P8 is wonderful). As a Rega neo psu owner the speed change especially this one would be a big factor for me,I don`t mind manual speed change but this "seems" a bit convoluted to get correct? These aren`t really questions I want to bother you with I`m just thinking out loud really - but feel free to answer any of them,or if anyone else can shed some light too. Thanks again for a great(& quickly uploaded)video - you`re providing a very good service to enthusiast who can`t simply drop into your shop,cheers. PS.Love the way it starts & stops "ingenious" - I take it the motor is just left powered on. PPS.Is there a psu that also "electronically changes the speed without moving the belt"?
@cheshireaudio

Many thanks for your comments... I think the ‘going off at a tangent’ is due to not scripting anything... I try and just do one take.... you can just leave the motor on, but there is an ‘in line’ switch so that you can turn it off. They do do a power supply, which is a good upgrade, it just given the motor a cleaner waveform though, not speed switching
