About this visit:
Making their First Duluth arrival for the season this March 27, 2023 at 15:47 in this blustery winterly afternoon. Arriving light, heading to the CN dock to load Iron Ore. They came in blazing their frozen dual horns, the Bridge replied with their frozen horns! Sounded like a really bad school band recital!
They pulled into the CN dock at 18:09 and began loading ore. Finished loading the ore March 28 at 12:05 after spending 20 hours and 18 minutes at the dock. They pulled out of Duluth at 13:15, heading to Cleveland Ohio to deliver.
M/V Mesabi Miner was christened in 1977 to honor the men and women of Minnesota’s Mesabi Iron Range. She was built by American Ship Building Company in Lorain, Ohio, and has always been part of the Interlake fleet. Her self-unloading system includes three cargo hold belts and a 265-foot boom.
