From what the drivers say the next Gen cars of the cup series are suuuper stuff and don’t have a lot of body roll or the THICK sidewalls on the tires like the Xfinity series does. The Xfinity series runs what is the Gen 6(next Gen is Gen 7) and with those older chassis and thicker sidewalks on the tires (stil have the old 5 lug nut design too) they can roll thru corners easier and you can see the body roll. @@ExploringTheSmoke Just to add, Nascar has different limitations on cars for each type of track. This usually consists of limits on power and aero. On super speedways(tracks above 2 miles and Atlanta), each car is required to have a restrictor plate to limit their power to around 510 hp, creating the tight pack racing you see at those tracks. The short tracks (1 mile and under) which require a 3 inch spoiler, road courses (the ones that have right turns), and intermediates (tracks over 1 mile and under 2 miles), are all limited to 670 hp. Hope that made some semblance of sense.

It’s always funny to me when people who know nothing about NASCAR say they only turn left because back in the day the schedule didn’t start with the Daytona 500, they started at Riverside which was a road course in Southern California pretty much until the track went under if I remember correctly. That plus the two tracks of Watkins Glen international and Sonoma Raceway that have been staples of the schedule for decades as well as having 2 very famous turns (turn 1 at The Glen, a 90 degree right hander with a downhill approach, and turn 11 at Sonoma, a 180 degree hairpin also to the right, respectively) And now we have more road courses than ever and even the Chicago street race so it’s just been becoming a dumber and dumber argument as time goes on.

NASCAR is mostly just turning left though, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I enjoy NASCAR so much more than other series because it’s majority ovals. The road courses are a good diversion from the norm but the best racing for NASCAR has been and will always be on ovals.
