HI Dean, Thanks for putting up this video. It looks from this that Nikon have a lot of work to do to get their retouch brushes working anywhere close to what LIghtroom Classic can do at the moment, and then when you compare this to the superior way Photoshop can erase things, NX Studio is even further behind that program.

Yes they do. Photoshop definitely has a lot more tools for touching things up and editing things out. NX Studio really is only currently designed to fix minor things. There are a few other photo editing software applications that have more retouching tools, but I am not sure if any of them match the number of retouch options there are in Photoshop currently.

You're videos are a pleasure to view. I'm a new learner for RAW and NX studio processing. I like the organization of demonstrating the different NX Studio tools into separate videos - makes learning in chunks easier than one long video. Question: I see how to use the retouch brush - it doesn't look like there is a heal type tool to remove large objects or unwanted things from the image. Using the retouch brush at 100 doesn't seem large enough for big object removal? Or am I missing a heal tool or equivalent somewhere? Thanks again for your tutorials.

Thank you. I am glad you enjoy my videos. They probably should have made the retouch tool so it could go a bit larger, but in general , retouch and healing tools generally do not work well at sizes too much larger. You can sometimes blend in areas with a larger problem with a smaller brush, but once the area gets to a certain size retouch and healing tools are less effective. Larger areas generally require techniques such as masking, cloning, or a stamp tool. Unfortunately, none of these types of tools are available in NX Studio at this time and the retouch tool is designed to fix minor flaws.

Very nice video. Help required, how do I re -centre the position of the retouch brush tool in NX Studio, currently when I use it instead of retouching the point where the pointer is, it's retouching an inch or so away from the actual pointer!
