Congrats on this huge accomplishment! You motivated me to possibly doing a half marathon this year. I had knee surgery back in 2020 which was the year I was going to do one, but unfortunately that has been on the back burner due to recovery. I’m looking forward to attempting to train for one. ❤

Great video and great race! Congratulations to you and your friend on a beautiful day; you guys really made the most of it during and after the "half"! Brunch is definitely the big highlight after running a distance like this one! I believe that we were in the same wave/corral; I'm pretty sure that I saw myself just ahead of you two on the FDR a couple of times, and the clock at the finish was only two or three minutes different from when I crossed. Also, you and your friends' finish time was almost the exact one that I had posited on the NYRR website last year when I was applying for the 2023 half (2:22:22)... I figured that would be close enough, and it was just easier entering all "2's" into that field in the online application! I'm a "Jersey Boy", and don't get to the city very often, so re-watching the race route plus seeing your day afterward in Brooklyn was very enjoyable. Great job done once again, and best wishes to you and yours in your future endeavors!

Hello ❤ You only ate a banana before a half marathon? That’s not enough at all…I don’t think that’s healthy… 😢
@TheCarolinaLifestyle
5 ай бұрын
Hi!! A half marathon is DEF different than a marathon and it's usually recommended to not change what you eat on race day, and before all my training runs that's what I always eat before I run!! Everyone is different but I have found that for me a banana gives me the perfect amount of carbs and energy for a long run :) I also integrated the gel at mile 8 which gave me 22g of carbs to power me through the rest of the race too!! I am big on nourishing myself so trust that I did research on what would be best
