My mother left when I was 6 months. I lacked self love and many other traits. I was blessed to meet her when I was 39 year. Thanksgiving 2022. I was aware of my own issues and saw hers. I thought if she loved me I would be whole. I still felt empty. I learned that I must find love for myself. Everything comes from within. Looking outside brings a lot of grief. We don't control others. Master oneself to be whole. Every day is a battle. Mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Honestly, with your level of self awareness, your easy going personality (as far as I can tell), your desire to grow as a person, your insights and your sense of humor, I can tell you, as a woman who has high expectation when it’s come to men, that you are above average and I can’t imagine you would have a problem with finding a good woman, truly.

What a beautiful ending. The misdirection from revealing your girlfriend to playing a duet with yourself instead, then the montage reminiscing your past self by playing back the clips from earlier in the video, and the little turn of your head to yourself as you finished off playing the song. What a great way to hold our attention and round out the video. Beautiful job :)

Damn. Life seems to be hard at times, harder than we might realise at first glance. But from time to time we might be given a clear enough sign for us to notice, just what it is that we can do about it. This video seems to be that sign for me. The best way to meet someone special is within your immediate culture, circle of friends, family, relatives and acquaintances. Join clubs, volunteer groups or faith based organizations. Meeting others with common interests is an indirect way to find someone. My best advice is don't try so hard, just let it happen. Listen to the Jamaican guy sitting in the Park bench, the man really knows what he is talking about.

Hi Eric, youtube randomly suggested this video. So glad, it came on my feed! God is trying to speak to me through you. I totally relate to all you said because I’m a young 27 year old single woman trying to navigate through adulthood and love-life. But, it only appears that I need to build a better relationship with myself and stop chasing love. But, on the other side, I hope you’re doing well! I hope you’re continuing to work on yourself and you doing a 100 times better than what I’ve watched on the video which is from a year ago. Also, boy you’re incredibly talented! Loved the mini-documentary on your love life. It’s was simple, wholesome and beautifully conveyed. No jazz or no bullshit. You’re very artistic and talented. Keep up the amazing work👏🏻 Continue doing the good work you’re already doing. Big love

I think it would be more comforting if Woman and Men got surrounded by people with exactly their same situation. Age growing, difficulty to navigate although you might be a very kind, easy and fullfilling person (ofcourse with advantages and disadvantages because no one can be perfect). The part in the video where he said "finding peace with your single life" is very important. We are all ment to find a partner someday, but we are scared that this won't happen, even if we tryhard outside. Out of 7 billion people, there must be someone somewhere :) For me it was important to gain experience from the other gender, wether is is hanging out, conversations, hobbies, entertainment, worldview or sex. If you all get that a little bit, it is soooo much easier. Well, for me it was, speaking only for me. But after a certain age, time and past experience, you get more and more to the point where you know what you exactly want. You just have to fight constantly the surrounding of you. Friends who get into relationships. who marries or even breaks up. You really don't need confirmation from outside if you are already happy with yourself. And you don't have to lie to yourself, just be really open to others and to yourself

Such a great video. May it encourage more people to do the "inner work". I started the same journey back in 2021 with a group of close friends. Indeed, it is not easy, as we are still human after all (with all the feelings of sad, annoyed, tired, bored, anger, etc towards others). Maybe the future life partner is also in the process of doing the inner work to be able to meet you eye-to-eye. All the best, hang in there, and keep it up! :)

I get the impression that in a highly competitive dating market like NYC with a LOT of super successful males vying for their attention that women would act even more highly entitled there. How many of all those dates did you have to pay for totally? Did the women ever pay for you or would NYC women laugh at the idea of ever doing that (and be totally turned off)?

Just subscribed and am enjoying watching you videos which I am finding cathartic because I am an open minded friendly American who lives in Switzerland where mots people are neither spontaneous nor particularly friendly. I think that connecting with people everyday including strangers in a meaningful or casual but respectful manner fundamentally changes the quality of life. Not being able to do this reminds me of the scene from Space Odyssey when Dave travels into open space in the pod to retrieve the body of his fellow space traveller and then returns to the mother ship with him in the pod's arms and is refused entry. Thank you very much for your thoughtful and thought provoking videos.

Very well done video! I can only imagine how much time, effort and thought went into producing it. You mentioned God, so perhaps you are a follower of Jesus Christ. I saw your video of the pensioner Brit, married to an American. This is a great video. Basically we need people in order to really find ourselves. It's through interaction and relating to anybody and everybody that we finally bounce, bump, walk or run into the companionship, where harmony and peace prevail. No need to speak, just be. Too much time alone can leave us completely self serving! Is this good or bad? You decide! In Eric's case, deep down he already realises this: hence a quest for the shared highs, lows and joys! He's such a nice guy I can't see why it wouldn't happen! ❤

that asianamerican therapist is engaging in syncretism and spiritualism.. its actually not something that goes together with the christian worldview, we shouldnt focus on the self or manmade ideas or systems (as a seeker you have to ask yourself how can I know this is based on truth). true christianity actually teaches to die to ourself (the ego/the flesh) instead of exalting the self or own effort.. True christianity is to give in to God's spirit, that's why meditation or focus on the self isn't actually a Christian practice.. With this said ofc you need to listen to your feelings and quite down and, deal with fealings and thoughts (recognise pain, or lies or shame/sin/fear/hate in your heart) , but you have to read Gods word and gods spirit more to heal those very hurts.. that's why meditation doesn't work. Christianity without the spirit is religion it is manmade system loosely based on the word of God, christianity with other religious practices mixed into it (syncretism) is worshipping idols and doesn't lead to God, and its confusing as it doesn't have Gods word as a firm foundation.. Christianity with the holy spirit - that leads to God and it also has a firm foundation Gods word. Search for Gods kingdom not the perfect church, its based on vulnerability with other Christians and prayer, not so much church pews, but could be found there too, when we worship God in spirit and in truth.. Blessings and I pray that you will find Gods peace that surpasses all understanding! / A born again Christian (not always at peace, but I know him who is true peace)

Watched the entire thing without looking at the view count, subs, etc. I genuinely thought I was watching a multi-million subscriber, high-quality production video with millions of views. I was stunned after I checked, only to see 12k views. I'm in a weird state where I almost have anything I want in life that I want, but not a girlfriend. I only had one relationship, and it was a super toxic and abusive one that has mentally damaged me. I never went to a therapist or anything about it, and even though I have a job, health, family, hobbies that I'm really passionate about, skills that I wanted and I acquired... I just feel empty. I feel like even when I was in that abusive relationship, everything was kind of OK because I had her. Looking back, I realize that's why I put up with all that toxicity because I knew that I would feel empty without a relationship. So I was thinking of moving to NYC to start a new life and to potentially find love there, which is why I searched up and found this video. I definitely think I need to give it another watch to fully grasp what has been mentioned here and what exactly "the work" is. What I have grasped so far is that accept the pain, cry, do whatever but don't try to tuck the pain away. Experience it. We'll see how it goes.

I know it sounds cliche but they really come when you stop looking. I'm an asian guy living in Germany and I dated for a few years which was just exhausting. It had its ups and downs but so I stopped. I guess when I stopped looking, my energy, my vibes changed and that's what attracted the right woman for me. I'm now happily married with a lovely daughter. On hindsight, I guess if one is trying hard, then that person emits a different vibe which in turn attracts the wrong person. Stop chasing gents and work on yourselves!

At 3:30. The rejection part is the most difficult part of cold contact dating like this. You have to get used to various reasons why you won't make a connection with a woman. If I told a person they would get rejected 41 times by women and on number 42 would meat the love of their life and future spouse, would they go through all that rejection? Most likely, but then again we don't know who that woman we approach is or if she will accept you. I would stay off dating apps of possible because that does a real head number on you. The rejection level is very high with little success. Live is the way to go.

Yes, self development is a must to be able to build a healthy relationship. However it takes 2 to tango. And the being happy by yourself thing is overhyped. You need another human being in your life to build real intimacy and not feel alone. You need a real partner to team up with against the hardships of life. That feeling of loneliness is because well you really are alone:)) physically and emotionally. And you can evolve much faster next to the right person.
