3:15 Just use the Raider’s bleachers and have the field in the same configuration that the football field was. It should work like that.

EXCELLENT breakdown about the Roots Coliseum move. Regarding the MLS question… you identified the main points about Roots joining MLS. However, a few things I want to add: If the Roots ever joined MLS the new billionaire investor (more than likely will be an overlapping NFL/MLB owner) would have to pay at least $40 million to the USL to keep the name and logo or just create a new team name; and the expansion fee would probably be closer to a $1 billion than $500 million. Lastly, I want to reiterate the Roots are not “replacing” the A’s (some confuse things). (Unfortunately) Soccer has been an underdeveloped sport in the U.S. and still requires a functional unified system because it’s so competitive worldwide. Nevertheless, soccer is a new adventure for Oakland pro sports we’ll see where that leads in the next several years and beyond.

Hell yeah because as far as I know the main problem with the ballpark is the sewage problem in dugout and in clubhouse. Soccer is best option and also why not NHL @ Coliseum Arena tho ???

Oracle Arena, although it was great for the Warriors for many years, is an outdated facility. Yeah, they still have concerts there and stuff, but in sports now, it's all about the newer venues.

@@86byrdman The NHL would benefit from expanding to Oakland AKA City of champions AND it would be a big draw for hockey fans in Frisco as well. Its understood that today's pro leagues want billion dollar ballpark villages tho it is also a known fact that the NHL needs to do more to be relevant with young Americans and Oakland accomplishes that goal. City of champions.

@@rapalbumdepot7648 True, an expansion NHL team in Oakland would be interesting. Yeah, fans in SF, the peninsula, the North Bay, and the East Bay who can't make it out to Sharks games down in San Jose, could have a hockey team to root for, and they could have a Bay Area rivalry with the Sharks. The Sharks may not be happy about that though as an expansion NHL team in Oakland would cut into some of their fanbase. The Sharks have the same unique distinction as the Warriors have as the only NBA team here in the Bay Area, in that they're the only NHL team here in the Bay Area. Not sure they would be willing to give that up. I'm sure they would fight for it, even though I remember there was discussion a few years back that the Sharks would look into playing some games at Oracle Arena. I think covid impacted that and the Sharks decided to continue playing at the Shark Tank (San Jose Arena). I do remember that was discussed/talked about, but it may have been as a response to the Warriors leaving Oracle Arena for Chase Center. Even though Chase is not built for hockey, I do kind of wish the Sharks could play at Chase or even Oracle Arena for a few games a year or so. They're not selling out the Shark Tank and maybe doing something like that could help expand their fanbase and help regenerate interest in them throughout the Bay Area? San Jose is too far for most of the Bay Area to get to for 41 Sharks home games.

@@86byrdman nah. The ballparks that got the stadium building boom jumpstarted were the replacing of venues like the Astrodome, Cleveland municipal, candlestick, county stadium, three rivers, Baltimore memorial stadium and shit like that. Oakland Arena is more than adequate.

Oakland really is down bad, but the Coliseum is pretty much on life support right now. Hopefully the Roots can help with the sewage problems at the Coliseum, but yeah, the Coliseum is outdated and a nasty facility.
