Your oba chan so cute reminds me of mine. Though mine has passed at the age of 96 yrs. i learned to cook some of her recipes but sataa andagi is one of my favorites. Love Uchinanchu ryori. Keep being nice to Grandma..........

I think she makes authentic andagii because others add extras like oil, vanilla essence, salt and use hotcake flour. Old Okinawa cooking is simple and use ordinary flour. I think she added an extra egg as she was making a lot and needed a bit of moisture (do not add water! or it will not turn into donut you want). And you want the dough to be more dry than wet; and to roll into round balls is another tip, just like she did, cooking in low heat. Magically the dough turns over on its own with a crack. Question to grandma: in Okinawa I ate andagii that was rectangular -- is the recipe the same? it didn't have the same crispy crunch but similar taste.

OMG!!! I was looking up recipes for Okinawan donuts and found this video of my dear friend Miko!!! I have been sick and haven't visited her in a year, how is she doing? Please tell her Betty said hello and I miss her. She gave me some plants, they are doing great. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
