I finished this large painting of the old Diary King in Delta, Colorado, several weeks ago. It's had plenty of time to dry. However, several areas are the painting have turned dull. To bring these dull colors back to life, they need to be oiled out. In this video, I demonstrate how I make my oiling-out medium using equal parts of Gamsol and Galkyd (both made by Gamblin Artist Colors), and how I use it to oil out this large painting.
