According to blurbusters motion clearness is determined by the frame visibility time called mprt. 120fps means mprt of 8ms, 60fps with a 50% duty cycle bfi like the c1/ c2 also resulting in 8ms mprt and therefore should equal the motion clarity of 120fps. The cx (or my old lcd) for instance has a 75% duty cycle bfi resulting in 4ms mprt, which equals motion clarity of 240fps.

I would like to understand that brother. Can you explain to me how to know with that UFO test the motion resolution in lines, like 1080p instead of that metric, because I was looking at that article from UFO and couldn't understand how to do the conversion
@gbhxvohdchigblkh4620
2 жыл бұрын
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 I don't think it's convertable, according to blurbusters the lines /second metric seems to be more specific to the display resolution and test pattern. Btw: The 1080 lines/ second are in NO way associated with the 1920x1080p display resolution, because the line is moving horizontally. A line of a defined thickness is moving with a certain constant speed (300 lines/ sec, 600/sec, etc.) and has to be compared to a displayed static line of the same thickness. As soon as the moving line appears thicker than the reference line, the display's motion resolution is exceeded. At 60fps the line is shifting 10 pixels every frame for the speed of 600 lines/ sec., and 18 for 1080 lines/sec. Unfortunately the test pattern was only released in Japan as a part of the "FPD" benchmark disc and I can't find it anywhere. Search for avsforum + fpd + motion resolution for further information.

@@gbhxvohdchigblkh4620 Thank you for the info. I tried to test BFI at 120 on all those UFO tests but I can't distinguish any limitations, it looks perfect in motion to my eyes, I would need a side by side with a 240 BFI OLED to realize that it can actually be better.
@gbhxvohdchigblkh4620
2 жыл бұрын
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 the bfi pulse frequency by itself isn't really decisive, the frame visibility is indeed. The cx's bfi for instance has a shorter luminance phase at "high" than the c1, therefore the cx has the higher motion resolution. You could compare oled motion pro on the c1 with 120fps at level "low" to "medium". A 240hz bfi would lead to double-(or more) edges, if not used in conjunction with 240fps

I only have some slight issues with how the coloring looks for me, but then I realize, perhaps it's because of that wider color range, and maybe that'll take some getting used to, but everything certainly has more clarity, even my Blu-ray movies (1080p content) look exceptional superior if not the best that I've seen them look, period. My upgrade to UHD can be at ease, as my upgrade will be unpressured. I can enjoy my 1080p stuff for now until I do upgrade further. It should be a crime to hide this setting... Shameful!

@@aliblack3497 What happened was PS5 made an update that is forcing low latency mode. They should add a toggle on a later update so people can turn it off.

@UCGG62_sImYFlg4BPEBxZFKg ohh never mind I found out you have to turn off VLLM form your pe5 settings in order to make bfi work!! The reason why I just found out coz ps5 didn’t had the option to turn VLLM off until 2 days ago with the latest update so we couldn’t activate bfi coz the ps5 was forcing the tv for VLLM
