I was stationed there as an AG1 from 1987-1989 and lived like a king and always remember that Magsaysay boulevard. "T" tavern to the first right; my favorite place for $100 peso for short time (you sailors/marines know what that is.)

T's was the bar! Spent way too many nights in that place over an 18 month 'B Co.' deployment. T's for the Red Horse, 'Samurai' for the 🥰and Rolling Stones for the stateside Navy girls...(hopefully). Usually in that order.

We were there at the same time. I was with Marine Barracks, B Company up at Cubi Point from 1986 to 1989. I lived in Olongapo City from 2013 to 2014. Can you believe it, the old white and black "T" tiles at the entrance to the club is still there. Oh yea, we all know about the infamous "T" Tavern. LOL!!!! ---- Semper Fi shipmate!!!!

I was assigned all over the place but my steady post was in Barracks 2 & 4. I made some very good American friends . The best! Will never forget. I miss you my mother land til we meet again. 😘🙏😍❤️😍

Thanks for this Brother! I was there in April, 1989 as an E-3 Infantry Marine on routine Westpac float (Environmental Survival Training) in April, 1989. That was when Army Col. Nick Rowe was killed and we ended up patrolling the perimeter of Subic Bay area looking for "NPA" rebels thought to be responsible. Glad we also got to enjoy Olongapo City while there!

43wagonwheel. Damn that’s right, the fan boys in the head. I completely forgot about that! We use to throw Pesos off the balcony onto Magsaysay and watch the kids dodge traffic to pick them up. Damn that was fun. We never worried about them getting hit or anything, they were fast as hell. I think it was way more hazardous for the ones swimming in Shit River for Pesos.Man, thanks for the memories

I was a king in olongapo , never felt such freedom. Even tho the little people were destitute , there was a manner of " scratching each other's back". No other port visit where you were welcomed with smiles and opened arms as in olongapo & barrio - simply incredible experience. The political climate was unusual , enigmatic alluring , that window - was just right....

Was stationed at the NAS Cubi Point Medical Clinic December 1975 to March 1977, and Niagara Falls is my hometown. While I was there you guys would frequently pull in and I would see crew around both the Base and Town and was surprised at how wild you guys were and actually enjoyed it. One of your Officers who was an Aviator came to the Clinic for his required Annual Physical and I mentioned that I was from the Falls, he offered to give me a tour, but unfortunately we couldn't the only free time he had I was on Duty at the Clinic.

Do you remember the name of the club where there was a sex strip show where bar hostesses were doing tricks with objects, eggs and pick up as many peso coins guys would stack? No one knew how to use a video camera in those days. It was all jiggle cam.

Yea, it was the Hitachi VM-3100A vhs movie camera. It was huge, sat on m shoulder for stedi-cam mode.

Oh boy oh boy brings memory it was great that was time in a long before Subic Bay I will never forget those great time the American military they were great people to a Filipino people they are really great people that was a great time in Olongapo City.
