NOTE: This tune was recorded at the first Harry James direct-to-disc session for Sheffield Lab which occurred in March 1976. The audio for the intended LP was recorded from a single stereo microphone directly feeding the master disc cutting amplifier, hence “direct to disc.” Neither of the sides recorded to the lacquer master disc at this session were able to be released on LP due to technical issues with the direct-to-disc process. However, Sheffield Lab also recorded the session to a two-track master tape in parallel that did not suffer the same technical issues as the master disc recording, and it is from this master tape, transferred directly to the digital compact disc master, that we get the audio for this tune (and appearing in this video).
