Just a little video I threw together, in which you can learn about all the rigorous science underpinning our modern understanding of the genetics that dictates inheritance in Crusader Kings II.
While I might joke about paternal contributions to offspring, I would suggest any untrained viewers refrain from doing so themselves: paternal contributions are actually very important for epigenetics.
Some citations I guess, for light reading while we're all quarantined.
Should I have cited more basic dogma for no reason?

- A couple of things on achondroplasia if you'd like, from (my best friend) Richard(?) M(?) Pauli who I definitely know, otherwise why would I cite him twice?

- Heterodimer image from this paper modified from Figure 2. It's also worth a read if you like genetics, it's clear and easy to understand if you've studied a little bit of university level genetics :)

- Drosophila melanogaster sex determination image from Figure 1. Honestly, I found it pretty boring, but it's also chock full of of examples of aberrant sex determination in insects so if that gets you going...

- Sex determination image from Figure 1. Also a really nice, simple, easy to follow overview of sex determination if you'd like to learn some basics.

- Physiological response to suckling image from Figure 1. If you've got a little bit of understanding on sex determination and hormones you can give this one a go, also if for some reason you think the claims I made about the well known phenomenon of lactational amenorrhea are what's scientifically dubious in this video, you could give it a read too...

- Histone variant image from Figure 4. A really nice paper, but probably the least available of the lot, if you don't have access through an institution.

- A real beauty this video, watch it all if you're a nerd.
