Testing a Home Theater receiver on the Amp Dyno? Why not? I just got in this Onkyo TX-NR626 HT receiver direct from Onkyo as a refurb unit. I've had one in my living room system for about a year and have been really happy with it. My "budget" HT setup does not require a high end receiver, so I saved some money and picked up this TX-NR626.
The Amp Dyno tests only 2 channels at a time, so this is how I tested the receiver. According to the Onkyo spec sheet, this receiver is rated to deliver:
95 watts x 2 at 8 ohms (20Hz-20kHz, 0.07% THD)
115 watts x 2 at 6 ohms (1kHz, 0.8% THD)
Can it meet or exceed these ratings? Let's watch and find out!
