My wife is a doctor. She treats blood disorders. When her hospital is short staffed, she sometimes has to go on rotation for a shift in ED. She would legit have to look up how to wrap an ankle, as she probably has only done it once since med school. Context is everything. Just because a doctor has to lookup a seemingly menial task, it does not typically mean they are a bad doctor. It could mean it is outside of their specialty and they want to make sure you are treated right.

Then I was switched to days. And had literally one day to flip my entire cycle 12 hours. Off work at 6am Sunday, Next shift starts at 9am Monday. Been screwed up ever since. I think this whole idea that you aren't "really living" unless you are out doing adventures and partying is something that Hollywood and the media taught people to think over the last 100 years. Like "you should marry for love and have a forever honeymoon your whole life". That's not how reality works. Home is home for a reason, and people used to spend their whole lives at home, often they didn't go more than a few miles from home the whole life. And I'm not convinced they were less happy or smothered. A nice quiet content life of familiar paths isn't unhealthy or limiting.

3:00 That can happen depending on the destination. If there is a severe storm along the flight path or at the destination airport.
@justforever96

That's what I was thinking. Are both the planes going to the same place? Otherwise there is no valid comparison. They didn't say they cancelled because a storm at _that_ airport. If anyone is taking off, it's probably at the destination airport or on the route and too large to be avoided. And it would have to be a pretty serious storm to stop departures. Taking off in a storm is a lot easier than landing in one.

Dishwashers suck any way. If you have to wash the dishes by hand to get them clean before sticking them in the dishwasher, then what the hell is the point of having one in the first place? It's the equivalent to "energy efficient" toilets that you have to flush 3 times to get everything down.

I can remember when my buddies and I in high school would go there on taco Sundays, they were $0.99 each, and were dang good. Now they're $2+ each, taste like hot garbage and will have you punishing the toilet for the next 2 days. Kinda like Rosa's used to have taco Tuesdays, when 3 tacos plus beans and rice was $5.99. Now it's $8.99, and 32oz drinks are $3.25, which is insane. I can make a mug full of tea at home for less than $0.25, and it tastes better!

About that lady bragging about walking 20 hours after being cut open. I was doing laps (well the first time was A lap) around the the nursing unit 24 hours after having major open heart surgery. I got out of surgery around 2PM and got moved from ICU to the step down unit at 10AM the next morning. Was doing a lap around the nursing unit a few hours later. I never realized how much I used my sternum until I had mine sawed in half...it's a very underrated bone! 😁

I also disagree about the graveyard. A lot of people like graveyards, especially old ones. Even modern ones are nice places, they are peaceful, like sanctuaries, sacred places, and they invite reflection and calm. I will hang out in cemetaries on purpose. Not because i am morbid and obsessed with death, but i like the artwork, i like the atmosphere, and i like to think of the people and who they were once. And how we all end up there, forgotten, eventually. I don't even find it depressing, it is what it is, and it's good to reflect on it sometimes, the reality of the human state. Anyway, great place to go and sit and read a book, keep the dead some company. And i don't think im that unusual for it either.

When you think about it, it's silly. We leave our bodies in a box in the ground to rot (except modern coffins are sealed for some dumb reason), but our souls are what is important. The body is just a shell. Being with Jesus should be our goal, not having a nice headstone.
@avalerie4467

Some headstones are very funny. If you ever get a chance to visit Key West, one reads, " told ya i was sick" Cant remember how old it is, or if i remember exactly what it says, but it always makes me chuckle when i go visit. I thank that gentleman for his humor.

Many of those plots never get visited by anyone. At least you are there every day you go onto your balcony. We have a "potters field" cemetery from 1800 in a land preserve near me. All the graves just have numbers. Almost every time I go there, I stop in and walk through the cemetery. No one knows who these people are. It's a shame no one cared about these people.
