I have the Crush 12, great amplifier! My advice would be to grab it, especially for the price for home use. Channel switching is easily solved with the use of an overdrive pedal. Any other needs, like band practice, gigging at a cafe, etc might be out of range of the 20 even. You might need the 35RT to achieve those things. I might grab the 20 for fun, but it doesn’t really fill any useful need. Maybe a living room “quiet” band jam?

Excellent insight: if you took the $50 you saved by getting the Crush 12 and get an overdrive pedal or distortion pedal, you would solve the channel switching problem!

@@5MinuteMusic you can get two beheringer clone pedals for $50 these days!! The clean volume is a little bit disappointing. It should be louder even for a 12 watt amplifier. I am sure future mods will pop up online to fix the issue.

hi 5 minute music, I am really a beginner with a harley benton te-62cc, now I am searching a amp. From this two, i think the crush 12 would be enough, but what about Marshall MG10G? Whick one you would recommend to a beginner? Both are close with the prices. KINDLY Mike

Or . . . You buy a 20LDX used, like I did recently, for $90. What's cool about the LDX is all the built-in effects, including delicious amounts of reverb. I love it.

I guess my only question is how loud are they both? I like the features of the 20 but would it be too loud to get full use of all features in a home practice setting? Or can I get a nice use of the features at a reasonable volume. FYI I live in a shared house. Thanks

I play harmonica. I do play gigs from time to time in and around the small town I live in. I decided to go with the Orange 20 watt. A friend who also plays guitar in some bigger gigs tells me the 20 watt would be great for any place I would play. I also found a video on KZitem of a harmonica player using the Orange 20. It had a very good tone in the video. That also helped in my decision. Thank you for the video.

New subscriber love the content! Super helpful for a beginner like me. I was wondering if you would consider doing a video on the Vox MSB25 Mini Superbeetle 25W 1x10" Mini Guitar Amplifier Stack. I’ve been looking at those and the way you do your reviews would be way more helpful than what I have found so far. Thanks.

all amps have their good and bad points same as guitars these small amps are more suitable for the bedroom for pratice not for playing anything live properly

This is about the fifth video I’ve watched where the reviewer fails to mention what is solid state or valve, or hybrid… Should it simply be assumed that lower price points are 100% solid state?
@5MinuteMusic

Yes, but I should have mentioned that they are solid state. Thank you for pointing that out!
