Through the wheat fields, sagebrush, wind farms, and just before you hit the Blue Mountains, sits a small ghost town on a high plateau called Hardman. This 1800's ghost town was a booming commercial center with stores, hotels, even a telephone office. Hardman, originally called Reddog, was considered some of the best farm land as well as grazing land, and a shipping point for those products. Like with all small eastern Oregon ghost towns, Hardman started to decline in the 1920's when a railroad was built near Heppner 20 miles to the north. Come join us for a look at Hardman.
