I know it's all Japanese
It's an endurance race called N1 taikyu (Super Taikyu of these days), where racecars are completely production based and modifications are limited. It's not like JGTC series where racecars all have tube frame chassis with motors and drivetrains that don't even resemble their production counterparts. As a result, each car's strong and weak points are revealed by competing in this race. This race was completely being dominated by an army of Nissan Skyline GT-Rs.
I think the GTO racecar was producing around 380hp, running a set of 15G turbos on specialy prepped and blueprinted motor from Ralli Art. If my memory serves me correctly, you can still purchase this motor from mitsubishi.
I know what you guys are thinking.. it's all Japanese.
Well..some things to notice. One of the driver says that:
'..since GTO has low and wide profile with low center of gravity, it's actually quite fast in twisties.'
Plus, GTO is subject to 311lbs weight penalty due to having higher displacement over a GT-R. (GT-R displaces 2.6L, GTO, 3.0L...)
