Your excellent demonstration finally helped me make sense of pulse width modulation. This and detune Seem like a nice way to get some real beef out of limited resources.

These videos are really helpful. I bought a Voyager XL this year, and have pretty much no experience with physical synthesizers (or VSTs for that matter.) This means, while it's fun to play with the Voyager XL, I mostly have no idea what I'm doing with it, as I lack the basic understanding that you're teaching in these videos. I'm very grateful.

What happens when you put the speed of the LFO into the audible range? Is there a new type of FM-like synthesis hiding in there, or is it more basic?

what kind of hardware is this demonstrated on. this thing looks awesome, also is this a built in oscilloscope? are there oscilloscopes like these one can buy?

Kevin Nowacki The hardware used is a vintage Yamaha Cs 15 and an Arp 2600, Marc uses an editor to do a split screen view here with, a seperate oscillope view its not built in . However the new(ish) Korg minilogue (poly), and the (monophonic) monologue have this built in :-).

Does yamaha modx has feature to do this? Pls someone opinions

I'm not that into FM synthesis (which is what MODX has along its own S+S engine called AWM2). But I think there should be some way to achieve a similar timbre through either FMx or AWM2 engines. What you are looking here is a sustractive synthesis engine, so there would be no direct correspondence but in your reference manual you should have a very deep and complete description of the synth engine and its sonic possibilities.
