Haven't seen this one in a while. I felt as angry today as I did when it aired live when they said Melvin Gordon broke Perine's rushing record. It was actually Perine who broke the record a week after Gordon did and still has it to this day at 427 yards rushing in one game. Proud of my Sooners for hanging tough in a game where they were largely outplayed, but we were insanely lucky to come out on top. Got bailed out by some critical penalties on third downs, a questionable PI call, a missed procedure penalty and Westwood recovering his own football. I work at Tinker AFB where we overhaul all KC135s aircraft. I’m in constant contact with their ANG unit which fly these reliable aircrafts. One day I sent a photo of their vertical-tail with Baker sticking the flag over the “O” of Ohio State. I explained to them that was how their aircraft tail was to painted...needless to say, they enjoyed the joke. It still puzzles me why the Volunteers aren’t beating up on the rest of the SEC; including Bama and Auburn. They have the dollars, fan-base, stadium, etc...Did I mention $$$$$$, and lots of it. So why aren’t they winning the SEC division, SEC championship?
@Gorockstargo
3 жыл бұрын
@@leemontgomery7914 we were spoiled rotten when we had Fulmer. From 89’ I think to 2008 we were constantly winning 8+ games each year and consistently in the top tier of the SEC. He won a Natty and 3 SEC crowns I believe in his tenure and constantly in the upper bowl games and was ultimately let go after his 2nd losing season in 14 years. Our AD went with the “hot hand” and hired Kiffin after he failed with the raiders. He left in the middle of the night for his “dream job” in USC and he was fired in his 3rd year after he got blown out by ASU. UT went cheap and hired Dooley afterwards after his Louisiana Tech team went 17-20 only because of his last name. In his 3 years he never beat Florida, Georgia, or Alabama and never had a winning season. Our new AD promptly hired butch Jones from Cincanati and he did excellent as a recruiter but could never develop, had multiple 5* each recruiting class and could not develop to save his job. Conservative coaching and the inability to adapt ultimately cost him his job after 5 years. The new fad at the time was hiring defensive minded coaches, Espicially right after GA hired smart, Tennessee ultimately settled with Alabama’s defense coordinator in Jeremy Pruitt and thought his nick saban mentality would work in Knoxville and could never keep up with the talent that the rest of the SEC had, always one spot down of everyone else. :(
