Husker fan here. I miss the OU vs NU rivalry so much. I hated when the Big 8 went to Big 12 because our teams didn’t play every year anymore. When I learned that Nebraska was moving to the Big 10, the loss of this rivalry was the first thing I thought of. All those big games that we played against each other over all the many years hold a special memory for me. The Sooners were always hated by me as a kid in the 70’s & 80’s. Now I miss my old friends so much. You never know what you’ve got till it’s gone. Go Big Red (& go Sooners...unless you’re playing Nebraska)

I am a born and bred Sooner. I sorely miss the Thanksgiving tradition that was the Ole OU-Neb game. We were rivals.. but there was respect. Nebraska families stayed with Oklahoma families in Norman.. and Oklahoma families stayed with Nebraska families when the game was in Lincoln.. and they would carpool together to the game. No cheap shots.. no taunting, but each player gave their best. I miss it.

I remember getting up early in Nor cal for this game. This team was so much fun and truly was the best team in the nation. Frank solich with a horrible game plan. Crouch was a bad thrower and they should have run more. OU was back!

OU obviously had one of their great seasons. They won the national championship dominating Florida st. 13-2. They had to beat one of the great kansas st. teams twice and did so. The key game was late in the season at Texas A & M when OU stormed back after being behind 10 points with 8 minutes left. Marshall ran back a 41 yard INT and won at kyle field 35-31 after scoring 14 points in 1 minute and having a goal line stand with 2 minutes left. Nebraska lost at KSU two weeks later but destroyed an upstart Northwestern team 66-17 in the alamodome.

"OU obviously had one of their great seasons. " What? * One of the great KSU teams? What? Bill Synder was 5-36 against teams ranked in the top 10. * won 3 of the last 5 games by 12 pts. Inc the NC game, 4 out of last 5 by 21 points. The year was a fluke NC. Want more proof. How many other NCs did Stoops come close to winning. A blowout loss is not close. It's confirmation that you should have never been there.

Oh god, you are all clueless about Solich. * 1 conf championship in 21 years, * losing bowl record at both schools at Neb only * 32-7 then 16-12. the CO game is the divider * worst loss at Neb in 40 years * first non winning season in 40 years * 2 of the worst back to back losses in 40 something years * 1-9 against ranked opponents on the road * 9 wins his last season (1 ranked opponent that finished unranked) * 1 of only 5 coaches to loss Bill Snyder (KSU) while ranked in the top 10. Billl was 5-36 in that category. The AD was absolutely spot on in firing him for not winning the games that mattered later in his time there.
