I'm poor so I use the stomp as my only piece of gear that makes sound (I also have a mission engineering line6 expression pedal). The limitations that it presents compared to something like the helix really inspire creativity. I use all six blocks: compressor, drive, volume, delay, reverb and an amp + cab. I have my buttons set on drive on/off and reverb decay + mix toggle for swells. Like you guys said, the swells do abruptly cut off this way but it doesn't take a lot to get used to. I just make sure I'm prepared for the next part and give the swell enough time to die before I turn it off. The last button is set to the default tap/tuner. The problem with the volume taking up a block is a thing, but it can be solved by assigning the expression pedal to a certain block's "level" parameter, depending on where you want your level change. I like it after the drives so I could set it to my delay's level. It works a bit differently but not enough so that it sounds different. I have yet to try it on different blocks. I've gotten into the habit of not needing an extra block so I end up just using the volume block.

DuBLYoOtEe ToNe! I'm new to the hx stomp but I bought it to become the center of my board. I'm using it in place of my electric amp, bass amp and acoustic di. Running pedals into it, utilizing the fx loop, and oooooooh them amps!

I have an external 2 button switch to my control the chorus/vibrato. Drive and reverb I use pedals (rv-500 for reverb). Various drives for whatever the occasion (nobels odr-1, Timmy, POT, vertex effects dynamic distortion, dod looking glass). No compression.

WT: The link in your description to the "Jet Micro HX" currently goes to a "Page Not Found." You have to click on the "Jet Pedals" logo at the top of the page, and then you can navigate to the pedal. Scott Uhl has a video for the HX Stomp called "Add a Boost to a Preset without using a Block." Haven't tried it yet, but basically, what you do is Assign an amount of gain to the "Output Node" of the Preset to about 3-5 dB, and program that to one of the Footswitches. Minimum = 0, Maximum = 3db or so. The Boost will be applied to any Snapshot in the Preset.

I bought mine primarily for wet fx but ditched my blues jr. soon after :D - the out-of-the-box amp sound for churches is just too good+ max. control over whats hitting FOH+ no problem with stage volume+ stereo sound (what a game-changer especially with modulation/reverb/delay)! I only use two drives in front of it (Boss BD Waza+ TS Mini) and a two button switch from mosky (15ish bucks on Amazon). Recently I started playing around with recording through the stomp as an interface and realized there are so many functions in there as well (still need to try out the whole re-amping thing)! -> the package of quality in tone and functionality for that price still puzzles me sometimes, to me it has probably been the best purchase in a long time!

I’m using my Stomp with my other pedals for more modulation effects and to route my signal. it was more affordable and quicker than buying all the individual pedals, more patch cables, plus another power supply 🤦🏻♂️. I also added trs dual switch. My my drive pedals go into the stomp- I use the stereo FX loop to add in Mako D1 delay and TC TrinityT2 reverb. That way I can add a tremolo after them if I want in the stomp but moving the block around. Signal is sent stereo to two Vox mv50cleans and normally direct out from there.

Hi guys ... I like your videos a lot… Just one thing: regarding the issue of switching delay times in HX stomp, in global settings>preferences there is a “tempo pitch” setting.. If that is set to “transparent“, You can switch between subdivisions without hearing a warp.. Please excuse me if I’ve misunderstood you or if someone else has pointed this out already.
@bmitchellmusic

Correct. But if you switch parameters of a delay like subdivision or scale you still get the warp. It’s unavoidable.

... ok ... forgive me if I sound like I’m trying to be a know it all. Just FYI if the warp has been an issue for you, I was indeed able to switch between quarter notes and eight notes on the same delay without hearing a warp while holding a cord even.., on the transparent setting of course. Anyhow I really like you guys work. I will be purchasing some presets from you for sure (I already got the free ones :-). I’ve never been very good with pedals (never really had a lot of them) and I really think the Stomp is going to straighten all that out for me. it’s really incredible as you already know

@moments_with_IH

I don't think it would work how you think it does. If you want to use a wah for one song, and volume for another, I think you can just copy and paste your patch, then change your wah for volume. You would just need to switch the patches and that's it. If you need wah and volume, you can use it for the 4/5 expression send to use both at the same time, but it'll take up an extra block. I'd stick with the first suggestion

Line 6 has down well to provide quality effects and the ability to have zero stage volume through amp emulation. To the normal church goer, it sounds fantastic. Depending on the day, I prefer my amps or the amp modeling when noodling at home. I go back and forth. It’s hard to replace the sound and feel of a tube amp next to you. BUT line 6 has given us the next very close best thing.
